We might get localizations of the PS4 remakes. I would not play Cold Steel 3 (or Cold Steel 4 for that matter) without playing every game prior. You miss out on too much world building. Cold Steel 3 specifically re-introduces characters from every prior entry in the series (and it gets even worse in 4). You lose out on so much context without playing them in order. Although I've played every game besides Zero/Azure and I haven't finished Cold Steel 3 yet. I need to finish 3 games before Cold Steel 4 comes out next year. The series can be strongly compared to a novel series. It's a very story heavy series. Probably the most story heavy series I have ever played. You may not think the pacing makes sense, but it really is formulaic.
