I saw that one a week or so ago, so forgive me if my recollection isn't perfect.

They're mostly talking about the content of her book and the topic is almost entirely about FTM transition. Though they make a distinction between genuine transmen and girls with mental health issues who grasp on to the transgender movement when they aren't actually gender dysphoric. Instead of engaging in eating disorders, self-harm, etc., they're engaging in gender transition to satisfy some need for attention, praise, fulfillment, etc. I dunno.

Citing the supposed phenomenon of clusters of teen girls coming out as trans after contact with trans friends, online activism, etc when there was no indication of gender dysphoria before.

If I recall, there was also some discussion of the danger of blanketing a medical/mental health issue as a civil rights issue making it difficult, if not impossible, to give a genuine professional opinion on the matter that is not properly in-line with transgender activism. Because careers would be on the line. I think the author claims to have spoken to doctors and researchers who refrain from raising concerns, because they're afraid their careers will be ruined due to how fervent the activism about the issue is.

No, you didn't. You stated that you disagree with children making surgical decisions, when that literally never happens. You did not address hockeybub's post, and instead picked a completely tangent line of argument that appeared to be the same argument. Then you decided to repost when people called you out on arguing against hockey, saying you never said that.

You're a sea lion. You're one of those people who "just ask questions" and love to get into arguments for the hell of it, and love being completely exhausting to try to argue. You argue about unrelated topics that seem related so you can come back with a "I never said that."

I will say, the whole push to have a "civil discourse" annoys me. It seems to imply we've ever been civil in our discourse in the past. When I could say we're probably in a time period where we are the most civil in history.

Also, who cares if someone cusses or raises their voice at you while making an argument. I understand psychologically why it's easier to convince people if you act a certain way, but shit. I'd like to be able to hear a good argument regardless of how it's presented and it's weird that people are fine saying they aren't and don't want to be able to do that

I dont bother taking the anti-Joe Rogan headlines seriously anymore. I dont think hes that great of an interviewer & also he says half-baked bulls*** from to time. I started watching his channel a few months ago and its clear that the outrage is sometimes hyperbole &/or misconstruing the interviews.

It's impossible to have a civil conversation when they're wanting all members of a minority group to give up things all to maybe keep a few members of the status quo from maybe getting medical care that is completely reversible (that is, puberty blockers). They won't even concede anything in return. It's fucking barbaric.
