Unfortunately even at $10, I still feel like I wouldn't get much enjoyment out of it. Seems like a bland space shooter game. So the way that I'm going to answer this question is as if you asked me, "Hey SteveNick, if YOU could only personally have 5 Switch games, assuming you'd never played any, which 5 would you pick?" And here's my 5: Breath of the Wild Super Mario Odyssey Smash Ultimate Fire Emblem Three Houses Super Mario Maker 2 I debated over this list for a bit because there's some that you really NEED as a Switch owner. Like Mario Kart isn't really optional, but I don't have any of those 5 I can replace it with. Splatoon 2 and Animal Crossing would be tough to do without as well. The thing that I love about it is that its like playing the game for an anime that doesnt exist. It has fully anime cutscenes and a ridiculous story that takes the sushi striking totally seriously. Its like if the people making Yu-Gi-Oh were aware of how silly Yu-Gi-Oh is and really leaned into it. The phrase sushi heresy is used at one point. and the core gameplay is fun. Its been a while since I played so I dont remember super clearly, but I think they found enough variations on it within the game to keep it entertaining all the way through. I would say definitely dont actually spend $50 on it at this point, but its on sale for like $13 on Amazon right now. I played as Olberic and beat all 8 stories. Had an overall great time. The criticism about this game related to the repetitiveness is definitely legit, but I still enjoyed it. Its been a while since I played so I dont remember super clearly, but I think they found enough variations on it within the game to keep it entertaining all the way through. I would say definitely dont actually spend $50 on it at this point, but its on sale for like $13 on Amazon right now. Its worth that for sure. This post is tempting. I may add it to my list.
