generic af. the kill animations look cool. also, they clearly put effort into facial animations during dialogue unlike some games. but overall its pretty MEH. maybe it gets better, idk.

I think its more me.

Part of it is that the open world feels like a chore more than a place to explore. And the motility of the character isnt very fluid. Idk, there are cool aspects, and Im sure Ill get back to it. Its just not the swan song I had in mind for the PS4. Thankfully, TLOU2 lived up to the hype at least.

The problem is that all of you get hyped from 1 all the way to a thousand when you hear about a new game. Then it comes out and all of you whine and complain.

You need more realistic expectations.

You guys think everything is trash. Maybe it's time for a new hobby. Also, helpful hunt, if you become a patient gamer and you buy a game like this one for 20 or 30, you'll probably enjoy it more.

Or maybe do more research on a game before you buy it. You could have bought something else.

Yeah, it is. But why complain about it? Most games are gonna stay at 30 and it's time you accept that. I wish games could all be 60 but they aren't dude.

Better than the people who buy a game on release date, play 15 minutes of it, and talk it up as GOTY just because it's the same game they watched trailers for.

Having a single bonus skill point will make literally no difference. And you cant buy more down the road. It isnt pay to win. Its more so please pay for our deluxe edition that doesnt give you anything of value just because our game should cost more than $60 so we have to offer a more expensive version with trinkets so that hopefully youre willing to pay more for the game.

Seriously, digital deluxe editions are rarely worth it.

There are definitely cool aspects. Like Days Gone, it actually utilizes the touch pad which few games do, lol. Which is cool to see. And yeah, the kill animations definitely look pretty cool. I definitely have to play more, it just hasnt exactly blown me away like I was hoping it would.

It's a small personal gripe is what I'm basically saying considering Nioh has both "quality" and "performance" mode options for even the base PS4 version.
Nioh is an actual trash game though imo but you get my point.

it seems to be directly inspired by assassins creed, which is a franchise that sells an enormous amount of games while never striving to be more than mediocre. i dunno what you were expecting

I can't imagine this games combat even comes close to Niohs. Unless flashy moves are your main concerns. Nioh had one the best combat systems this gen.

mechanically its not very different from lost open world games but the combat and presentation are great

the only bad part are these assassins creed tailing missions that start a timer as soon as you lose sight of them

After upgrading my skills and stance techniques moderately, I can confirm this as a nope lol. It really does the stance-switch and combo chains far more efficiently that Nioh wishes it could. In fact, the game is actually somewhat easier the better you improve.

I actually find it a lot easier(and more fun) as you improve. At first I found the combat "ok" but after a few hours and unlocking more of the techniques it really started to mesh with me. It's certainly not the hardest game in the world once you get the hang of it(though bosses are not a cake walk to me) but it's really quite fun and stylish.
