Joe didnt say anything offensive in his review. This is just ResetEra being ResetEra. SkillUp was banned for his review of the game as well. In fact, if you criticize the game in any way, youre either sexist, transphobic, or whatever label they deem suitable.

Many of the banned users have started migrating to a site called JoyFreak. ResetEras own user base has started to realize the true nature of the site. The sites days may be numbered especially if industry insiders migrate to other forums.

here's a couple of things i saw joe say. i didn't watch his official review, but i watched probably half of his spoiler discussion video after i beat the game, and saw a clip of him reacting to the ending. so if there's anything to correct, go ahead.

he said the ending was drivel because females survive and males don't. it isn't true, for one. tommy survives. mel and yara die. as far as people that are up in the mix in this revenge story, a few more named males die than female....so what? why is that drivel in and of itself?

if he thinks this is some anti male game, most of the villains are women. abby starts off as the villain we want to kill. then ellie becomes a villain - i'm not even talking about fighting against her. she literally becomes the villain when she decides to go after abby after being spared twice, and leaving dina and the baby in my eyes. the scars were committing their atrocities in the name of a woman. i didn't really consider isaac to be a villain, perhaps some do idk. the faction at the end of the game you could say are male villains. but even if you throw isaac in the mix, that 2 villain factions led my males, to one villain faction inspired by a woman and 2 villain protagonists that you have to actually play.

when he did his video for the spoilers (which let me start by saying weren't true), he immediately laughed at you as a trans character that kills ellie. right off the bat, not good. because this isn't a bad thing in and of itself. we might not like to see ellie die, but this doesn't mean it's a bad game/bad story, and he treated it as such. he said something like "i'm paying 60 dollars to play the characters i love." so did he already decide he didn't like a character based off they're not joel and they're trans? i don't claim to know how a trans person would receive that video. but if i saw someone complaining that you have to play a black character and that he's paying money to play the characters that he likes, i'm going to think he has a problem playing a black character. straight up.

2. Where does he think the game is anti-male? He goes on a long rant about the interesting characters getting killed off, but doesn't mention anything about it being anti-male.
3. He does get rather mad at the game for doing everything possible to make Abby likeable, and to make Ellie hated. All those forced dog killing moments with Ellie and those dog raising moments with Abby annoyed him.

i disagree with some of your points about certain things being pointless, but that's a whole nother discussion. i'll just say that killing dogs didn't make ellie more unlikable for me since they were...sort of out of necessity. necessity because those dogs are going to kill you. but not necessary because ellie doesn't need to be going on this mission at all. i think there's only one absolutely mandatory dog killing though, and she was ambushed. so i kinda sorta give her a pass on the dog thing.

Sounds like he doesn't understand the game and has some personal issues to resolve when it comes to killing dogs in video games.

Eh, those are Joe's take from his review, not mine. Also a lot of reviewers do not like killing the dogs.
