For our latest game, Steelrising, we created a new and original universe especially for the game, and a much more action-focused approach than the gameplay found in our previous titles.
In Steelrising, you play as Aegis, a robot in female form, a masterpiece that serves as a bodyguard to Queen Marie-Antoinette, to put an end to the massacres carried out by the robot army of King Louis XVI, who seems to have gone mad while trying to suppress the nascent revolution by unleashing an army of out-of-control robots.
In this version of Paris, you find well-known monuments and others that dont exist anymore. We recreated the Grand Chatelet, for example, and the Tour du Templethe kind of places that characterize the period.
What would have happened if Louis XVI had been a tyrant and could indulge his passion for machines and automatons to crack down on the revolution in its early stages?
We wanted to add more verticality to exploration, so when you move around the Parisian streets, you dont just stay at ground level. And to move from fight to fight, we wanted to really exploit other types of movement: climb up on a balcony, discover a secret passage to another locationthat kind of thing.

I admire these guys doing these games without big money publishers behind them but theyre just... severely lacking. I could justify the very, very average and generic gameplay if their stories were good, but theyre not, theyre shallow and as obvious as it gets.

I just got GreedFall last week, I'm looking forward to starting it later this year.

The story is actually really interesting to me. They set it up a lot better than most modern games. The combat is passable. It's way less action than you'd think tho. The combat takes a huge backseat, so prepare for that

I'm hyped. Spiders has always been eurojank but Greedfall pushed them just over that jank hump. It also sold pretty well so I imagine the budget for this will be even bigger. I'm not expecting a AAA title but I trust them to make something really fun. The concept alone sounds great.

greedfall isn't perfect but it's really still enjoyable

How did you like The Technomancer and Mars Logs? If you've played them. At the very least they always seem to do interesting settings.

Mars War Logs was straight up booty. Never played Technomancer. I enjoyed Greedfall for what it was, but it is pretty generic on the story front.

Technomancer was ok but way jankier than Greedfall. I only played it because it was free and still barely got out of the first city.

I remember getting Bound by Flame on a steam sale a few years back but I never started it

the fact no one seems to have mentioned it despite every other title they made being brought up suggests to me that it not only isn't very good but also completely forgettable lol
