Sekiro is one of the most perfectly-crafted games that I absolutely hated.

I can't fault the game for its vision and execution - because it sure executed it with razor-sharp precision. But it's just too focused on a singular form of combat and is too uncompromising for me.

But, seriously, it's just a matter of patience and perseverance. And I completely understand why people feel like that, because the game is seriously hard.

Do I need to kill the ghost monk to progress? Can't find any other way, and I would prefer not having to fight ghosts if I don't have to.

A cheesy tip if you want to use it:
Snapseeds will interrupt her combos and stun her so u can get some good hits in and rinse her real quick.

I beat her "first" try. Okay, second, but first try where I was trying and had full health. So yeah, at least the first mandatory ghost boss is easy, which I guess is a nice concession.

Game doesn't even seem to consider them a real boss as I didn't get an achievement for killing them >_>

What exactly does divine confetti do? I thought you needed it to fight ghosts, but apparently I could damage her fine without it.

Confetti doubles damage vs ghosts, it's not mandatory though.

Np. If I wasn't okay with unintentionally learning some spoilers (and really, it wasn't much of anything), I wouldn't have made a topic, I'd just have played the game and talked about it after.

Also, one thing that is quite silly to me is, if you stagger an enemy out of midair and they fall on top of you, you take damage.

God damn little guys keep jumping over my head as I try to axe them and this keep happening.

Beat the boss on my third attempt. First time reaching the second health bar, too. I had only 3 gourds left after the first deathblow. Good one-on-one, but kind of disappointing. Like, I was expecting more from that character. More challenge, definitely. And I dunno if he is actually dead or he comes back like certain other bosses, but I really hope he does. Or at least that there's some sort of memory where you fight him at his prime.

The Corrupted Monk isn't a ghost. You still need Confetti to damage the health of non-underwater Ghost bosses, but they're all optional.

How do I get the kunai item to upgrade the shuriken to the lady butterfly thing? It's keeping up my upgrade progress on other things. I don't really like this system that requires you to basically find every little secret thing just to upgrade the stuff you've actually found.

A merchant at Ashina Outskirts -> Outskirts Wall - Gate Path should sell it. If he's dead, it should be in the lost item shrine near the dilapitated temple, like all important items that have become inaccessible.

This has always been my takeaway from watching other people play it. The SB games are hard, but Sekiro seems just pointlessly so. And the combat looks horribly boring.

I've only played DS3 and Sekiro, but I found Sekiro much more rewarding to play. I felt like I beat a lot of bosses in DS3 without even really knowing their movesets.

I can understand not liking Sekiro if you played Souls games for their PvP, magic, or just trying out different builds. For me Sekiro has the best melee combat in all of Fromsoft's games, but I can't be bothered to start another playthrough just for the two bosses I missed in a different ending.

Are you going for the clever savescumming allowing you to get all endings in one go ? Though you can't KEEP the two different rewards for NG+, but just for trophy's sake.

It's worth replaying NG+ just to see how much better you got. I get so much satisfaction out of stomping bosses I previously struggled against.

Yes. Not to mention you do need to do NG+ if you want to get all moves and max out all prostethics.

I do plan to do a NG+ run, at least. I've platinumed all the Souls games, I imagine I'll at least attempt it with this as well.

There are multiple endings, each with a trophy, so unless you do some save scumming (and look up guides to access some of them since its not exactly straight forward) youll be going to several NG+'s if you want to platinum

It's almost certainly the easiest of FromSofts games to Platinum, I never had the patience to bother with the others tbh

I can't quite figure out what to do to progress. There doesn't seem to be a way to reach the platforms to the far right of the zone. Only thing I found underwater aside from a bunch of goodies was the entrance to the great carp's lair. There doesn't seemt o be anything of value in there, and I'm not sure how to "defeat" it, or if that's tied to progression. I assume it has something to do with the precious and truly precious bait I've been getting.

A little hint would be appreciated. The last hour or so I've just been running around blind trying to poke at everything. That said, I'm done playing for today, so I won't actually move further along now.

The Big Carp area is the way forward, progression is at the other end of it

About to start my daily session of Shinobi of Boy (hahaha thats funny, me!). Might go to Ashina Castle and kill one of the people there since I currently have 3 prayer beads before I go for a swim.

I think the two dudes at Ashina Castle are the only non-ghost strong enemies I haven't defeated yet.

The sky sure is dark outside of the Fountainhead Palace.
