Aw yeah. The legendary JRPG that took the word by storm is here.
I did play the OG FF VII back in the day but I didn't get very far. I stopped at the Gold Saucer, I think. I watched AC though, so I'm somewhat familiar with the characters at least. So here we go! (Disclosure: These are prepared beforehand on a Google Docs and I've played slightly further.) Going with Normal difficulty though I'm wary of the battle system. Aerith is so pretty. We see the good old industrial pizza, Midgar. Cloud wears an earring. How chic. Oh my god if I kill enemies they're automatically become fayth and were sent to the Farplane. Yuna is out of job! Wedge be like "HI NEW FRIEND :D" And Cloud was like "Go die in a garbage fire, you fat brute" Why is Barret's voice so...gruff. Cloud: We need a spell to take down this Metal Gear! Also Cloud: *literally has no spell* Oh man I can already feel the many Ls I'll get from not being nimble enough juggling all the actions I should take during battle. ...Wait, Barret DOES have magic. I just figured it out as I fought the mecha scorpion. Thankfully since I played the original game I know to attack it while its tail is up! ...and only after destroying the reactor did I learn that Cloud CAN cast a spell. Whoops! Oh no everything exploded, people are dying... Barret: WE ARE THE VIRUS Jessie is being so chummy. I didn't remember her being this friendly. A WILD SEPHIROTH APPEARED Seph: EEYYY IF IT ISN'T MY MAN CLOUD Cloud: wha-- Seph: BISH BYE Cloud: wait no --- Into the woods, but mind the past... Into the woods, but mind the future! ... Mako Reactor #2? Oh it's just Sephiroth. Silly old Sephy! Those old stink rags are very fatigue chic, bud. Man it's kinda weird seeing the slums in daylight. Also, I miss pressing X to talk to the NPCs instead of them shooting soundbits that I can barely catch.
