tbh, the initial results were like 1-2 votes for a few characters and then 10 for Lovegood. Things are a bit more even now.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LeG_judrcOA Dumbledore as a character was really fucked up, especially the lengths he went to to "groom" Harry to kill Voldemort. He basically knew how the entirety of the series would unfold due to the prophecy and went through with it because there was no other way to defeat Voldemort. A lot of people like the series for many reasons, but this was something that always stuck with me and I'm honestly surprised Rowling was competent enough to create a narrative that was this deep. And Snape really was troubled due to how love for Lilly (and by proxy Harry) but because he had to fulfill the prophecy he could never tell any of this to Harry. The entire thing was just really well written, even Snape's role (and death) in fulfilling the prophecy. Reading all of this as I grew up (I mean reading Sorcerer's Stone and Chamber of Secrets in 1999) was something else. Only books I have ever pre-ordered in my life were Order of the Phoenix, Half-Blood Prince and Deathly Hallows.
