Adding on, my protip is to wear gloves literally everywhere. As soon as I get back in the apartment, I immediately toss them in the laundry hamper and sanitize just in case. Don't even touch my keys/phone or even the lock inside the door until I've done that.

You should be fine, just be vigilant.

Alternatively, you can also carry around pocket sized hand sanitizer. Its what I do. I use it after I leave somewhere that isn't my home.

My boss just told me to send my symptoms to our company doctor.

Woo, another paid sickation possibly incoming. Gonna be bored as fuck after two days again :(

Current symptoms: constant cough. Recurring headache. Sinus congestion. Not sure about temperature. Had a sore throat the other day but it's gone now.

Last time my doctor couldn't test me cause my temp was only in the 99s. That was back in early April though, if I get to go in today hopefully they'll be able to test me. Pretty sure testing is a lot more widespread now.

I don't think it's covid based on the cough. Covid = dry cough, right? I'm coughing up so much damn phlegm today

Update on this: got into work this morning and had a response from the company doctor. He wants me to go home and get in touch with my doctor and see if they want to test me for covid. Then I'll be out of work until negative results come in.

He sent that email like 5 minutes after I left yesterday. Damn it, I could've slept in this morning

Anyway I'm gonna call the doctor up when they open in a bit and see if I can get in today or tomorrow.

I saw that at least in northern Nevada it's all on businesses to enforce the mandate. Law enforcement in several areas has already said they aren't going to waste time citing non mask wearers.

Is the throat swab any better/worse than when they swab it for strep throat? I have a horrid gag reflex and I gag every time I get the throat swab, but it goes away after a few seconds so it's really not a big deal.

I thought I read somewhere that the nose swab isn't some gentle q-tip or whatever lightly brushing your nostril but that it really goes up there... that uncertainty would lead me to go with throat.

Its about the same size as the throat swab one. Has to get all the way in your nasal cavity, not just your nostrils

my work switched to throat swabs after one day of testing because so many people complained about irritation afterwards from the nasal swab

Nurse agreed that nasal would be best for me when I told her I gag too easily cause she'd have to keep trying to swab over and over.

Bars in the state of Florida were shut down indefinitely for a second time this afternoon.

Daytona Beach became the first city in Volusia County (largest county in state) to issue a mask order which begins Sunday at midnight.

Orange County issued a mask order last week. Its expected that the rest of Volusia and then the rest of the Counties statewide will vote in mask orders by next Friday.

Restaurants remain at 50% capacity rules for the time being, but the expectation of the industry is that by middle of next week that will be scaled back to 25% again.

Disney is still ordering their employees back to work in July. Cast members as they are called, are currently filling a petition to delay the return to work as they dont feel safe reopening the parks.

Disney has said those who do not return will be considered voluntarily terminating themselves from employment with the parks.

Were a complete shit show down here.

I'm a bit worried that I'm fucked. My boss and her family were on vacation this past week, and went down to Florida. My boss is also the ignorant anti-mask "COVID is just the flu, stop closing everything down and restricting everything!" type. Additionally, another of my coworkers (who also doesn't think much of COVID) also had close family visiting Florida this past week.

I've been super careful thus far, and will continue to be, of course, but there's little I can do to stop from getting infected if either of them end up getting it. It's so frustrating that nothing I do will matter, and I may get infected all because I work with idiots.

Personally, I've taken the Covid test twice now for travel purposes, just to make sure. It's not as bad the second time, if you do have to go back. The test sucks no matter what, but it's better once you have an idea for what it really feels like.

The real trick is to make sure you lean your head back a fair amount.

I didn't lean at all on my first test, but it helped a lot for my second time around when I did.

Imteresting that they release these models a week before the 4th of July. Sounds like a scare tactic to me.

Yeah it did look better as the night went on. It appeared that just about everyone had a mask with them at least, but some kept it down while drinking and smoking.
