Damn the police boot lickers here looked like complete dumbasses as expected. Cops have already been caught vandalizing property, lying about assaults, and even fabricating stories of food contamination. There is no fucking reason to believe the assholes anymore without concrete proof.

The bootlicker comment doesnt even fit. People are saying investigate it and act accordingly. Well, they investigated and claimed no foul play. There are people saying or implying the police deserved an attack, regardless. Interesting when law enforcement investigates other situations, some of these same people say you should not trust the findings. But now, with this case, you are supposed to trust them. There is no consistency of thought or morals, if you want to add that to the discussion.

Shake Shack employees have been cleared of any criminality after three police officers were sickened by drinks from a Lower Manhattan location Monday night, according to the NYPD.

"After a thorough investigation by the NYPD's Manhattan South investigators, it has been determined that there was no criminality by Shake Shack's employees," NYPD Chief of Detectives Rodney Harrison tweeted just after 4 a.m. Tuesday.

According to police sources, it appeared a machine at the chain's Fulton Center location was improperly cleaned, resulting in the residue of a cleaning agent or bleach remaining inside when it was used to make beverages for the police officers.

The investigation came after three Bronx officers, assigned to a protest detail in Lower Manhattan, became ill after drinking beverages from the restaurant.

PBA President Pat Lynch said the police officers were hospitalized but were expected to be okay.

Pretty much, but in this case, I can understand questioning it (just like how everyone should question police shootings). If I were trying to cause harm to a cop, I wouldn't do it where there's a near guaranteed chance to get caught. Instead, it's much easier to kill a cop and get away with it during a moment of chaos like the protests, such as what happened to David Dorn.

Someone having a visceral emotional response cannot comprehend why someone else does not.

The problem was the police union making a direct public allegation without investigation or evidenced. If they just investigated or wondered to themselves, that would be one thing, but they instead took the chance to contribute to a public narrative of cops being under seige by the public.

I highly doubt someone is crazy enough to poison a drink in a restaurant chain. My guess would be improper storage of ingredients. If this is a legitimate attempt at poisoning someone, I will lose a bit of faith in humanity.

I agree - with things as they are right now (let alone normal procedure), cleaning is excessive. Bleach could've been used to clean glasses and not been properly rinsed or the drink machine, etc.
