you do need a deep fryer to deep fry things, which isn't the same as panfrying. Panfry is less oil and as a result is going to be less crispy. It will also be more oiley, and thus less healthier than deepfrying.

Eh, only somewhat. They do have some cheap stuff that's pretty good, but you can easily top $10 if you stray from the dollar menu. Cheesy Gordita Crunches are like $4 after tax now.
