I really don't think Rowling not getting onboard with the trans movement is going to have a significant impact on the Harry Potter franchise. You may find some outrage online, but outside of vocal progressive circles, transpeople don't seem particularly well received by the general population.

The general consensus seems to be that JK Rowling is shit but those mad are still crazy Harry Potter fans, so I doubt there will be much fall out. And it's not like Rowling had anything up her sleeve in terms of any good book ideas lol

Imagine a world where Disney owns Harry Potter, Star Wars, Marvel, their own Disney Princesses line, all the classic short and feature animations, and the largely and phenomenally successful line of reboots of those animated features, plus the franchises Alien, Die Hard, The Fly, The X-Men, The Simpsons, Family Guy, and King of the Hill. Also all of the Marilyn Monroe movies, Patton, The Grapes of Wrath, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, The Sound of Music, and the original film M*A*S*H. Just for starters.

It's a world very much like our own, except in that they do not own Harry Potter.

What would that look like? They subvert expectations by having Harry decide Volumort was right and lead a genocide against the muggles, just do be stopped by a Slitherin kid?

IIRC Disney was the first to approach Rowling about a Harry Potter ride, and offered nothing else. It would be stuck somewhere in Fantasyland and would be the only thing representing the franchise within the park. Universal Studios offered her an entire themed land that would sell her merchandise and she would have creative input. It shows you just how stingy Disney can be.

The Harry Potter rides at Universal Studios are some of the best rides they have. And Universal did a much better job with the the material than what Disney is likely to have done.

Disney has copied Universal's immersion style, and to great success, with Avatar and Star Wars inspired locations at Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios respectively. But I think if they'd gotten Harry Potter first, it probably would've been a token ride at Epcot and Harry Potter appearing in the Disney parade.

Besides, it's nice to not have everything under one roof.

And who knows? Maybe they'll reboot Harry Potter and make Luna Lovegood or Cho Chang transgender. They can't do that with Hermione since she'll be Black and doubling up on progressive points might be a little too on the nose.

I believe the poster is referring to total numbers, within population. In other words, trans persons supposedly make up less than 1 percent of the world.
