Black mana-type cards had a Halloween-ish, unholy theme, and white mana types had religious themeing, so the name of the card makes sense, and the terminology "Black creatures" is consistent in game because it's referring to black mana-type creatures, with creatures being a card type in-game. It's really unfortunate though because if you're not a player it looks awful lmao. I could be wrong; I don't know of the artist has racist beliefs on record.
