they once attacked us for demanding justice and defended the cops to no end; they'll now try and take the high road and claim we didnt care, when we were the only ones who did care. That was a huge story and BLM/people who demanded better from cops were the only ones talking about it.

I actually never heard of this shooting. I just saw the video and I wish I didn't, it's going to take a while to fall to sleep now. That was horrific, not only the death but the entire interaction between the cop and victim was dehumanizing. I mean what was even the point of crawling? He had him flat on his stomach, hands over his head, and legs crossed. Why not just walk up cautiously and cuff him?

What really burns in my stomach is that he was a jack ass the second he got there. I get that cops, even good ones, need to be control of their situation and being stern is part of the job, but the guy sounded like he showed up to work angry. Like he wasn't stern, it sounded like hatred.

Well you need to factor in the fact that there are shit ton more white people than there are black people. Something like 60% of the US population is white and 15% is black. It's a number game, a larger percentage of black people are shot and killed than white people.

Im not talking about rates, per capita black people do get killed more by police, thats true. My point is just about the tweet in the first post, its not wrong, there are a lot more total white people killed every year by cops than black people, and they are never national news

That is because a higher percentage of the population is white they are actually killed at a rate less than 1x their relative population whereas black people are killed at a rate of over 2x their relative population.

So, yes, people of all skin colors are definitely abused and killed by the police, but its clearly also significantly skewed against black people.

There are more white people in the US. Unarmed black people are still ~3 times more likely to be killed by police.
