Elections Canada isn't a political party.

Do you know how you get registered to vote in our country? I'm confident you do, but I'll explain it for those who don't know. You check a box while filing your taxes. Sometimes, someone (often a professional tax preparation firm) screws up and checks the box when they shouldn't.

Thankfully, the Elections Modernization Act (Bill C-76), by allowing IRCC to share information with Elections Canada, makes it a hell of a lot easier to find votes fraudulently cast by non-citizens. It also empowers the office of Commissioner of Canada Elections with the authority to impose fines and file charges against those who fraudulently voted. Justin Trudeau's Liberal Party introduced this Bill.

why "thankfully"? non citizens who reside in canada pay taxes and are subject to your laws; why shouldn't they be allowed to vote

"Taxation without representation" specifically refers to not being represented in Parliament. Any given person who lives within a political riding is represented in Parliament.

Even if you didn't or are unable to vote for a particular representative, you are still free to address your concerns to that representative in an effort to alter their voting in Parliament. This is how representation works.

cool, lets just have 1 guy vote per province then. everyone else is still represented, because 1 or more people in their province voted for their representative. or perhaps we should only allow the non-citizens to vote -- im sure the citizens will understand that they are still being represented

There's racist cops everywhere. In Republican-run areas, Democrat-run areas, and everywhere in between.

Weak men nationwide are attracted to being in a position of power so they can bully and oppress others to make them feel strong and tough in effort to mask their fragility and impotence.

What's undeniable is that a vast majority of those racist, abusive cops are Republican, and a majority of voter fraud is perpetrated by Republicans.

It's almost as if weak, spineless people will do anything they can to gain and keep power; lie, cheat, murder people of another skin color...

I grew up in a family of racists, all of whom were staunchly Democratic voters. Thankfully my dad was a wiser man and believed in the true meaning of Democracy. He was my only male role model who wasn't a huge bigot and voted all over the map for what he believed in, not the party. It's weird the women in my family were never racist, even though their SO's were. It was pretty rough growing up with those morons, who not only were disgusted with my opinions on race, but because I was pretty much only defended by the women of the family I was a "Momma's boy" and a lot worse. I truely loved my dad for the way he stood up for me against a family he was only a part of by marriage.

There are plenty of weak spineless people in every political party.

There are 338 ridings that each require representation in parliament for government to form. As a person can only live in one riding at a time, one voter per province or territory (i.e. 13 voters) could not possibly provide the requisite number of seats.

Dead people dont file taxes. Neither do non-citizens. No one I know was required to show ID. Votes dont have names on them. Hope that makes it easier for everyone to understand.

Permanent residents file taxes all the damn time. Taxes can be filed for a deceased person. Have you never actually seen a tax return form? There's literally a section on the first damn page labelled "Is this return for a deceased person?" where you have to fill in date of death. Also on the first damn page: "If you became or ceased to be a resident of Canada for income tax purposes". Note how it says "resident" and not "citizen".

You have to prove your identity and address when you vote.

So, theoretically, a person with an erroneously issued voter information card and a utility bill with the name and address of the intended recipient of the voter information card could fraudulently vote.

Of course, seeing as IRCC can now share information with Elections Canada, it's quite easy to find out if a permanent resident voted when they shouldn't have and they can then be fined or indicted for doing so.

If enough fraudulent votes were cast to potentially affect the results of an election in a given riding, then it's likely a new election would be held.

Because Chauvin presumably lived, worked and paid taxes in Minnesota during the 2016 and 2018 elections, he wasn't eligible to vote in the state's last two elections.

...so they don't actually know he did anything wrong? And there are no details as to how the votes were allegedly cast? Or whether he was even the person who actually cast those votes?
