the game that made Curt Schilling broke but wasnt bad at all

The product description on Xbox.com states Re-Reckoning will release on August 11. All the DLC from the original game--including Teeth of Naros and Legend of Dead Kel--is included with the re-release. The game also promises "improved graphical fidelity." It was decent, but not very impressive in any particular way.

Of course, I played it last year -- it may have been better in the time it came out.

It was good, not great. Didn't play as well as Fable, and didn't have the same personality but was much more expansive and deep.

A HD release? A remaster? Remake?

THQ Nordic acquired the rights to Kingdoms of Amalur, the company confirmed to Eurogamer that Electronic Arts continued to hold the publishing rights to the franchise, so a re-release would require their approval. The two companies have now seemingly worked out an arrangement.

What? Fable should be honored to shine Amalur's shoes.

It has one of the most enjoyable console battle systems in a long time, but suffers from other problems. The chief among them being the sidequest content is mostly lame and few quests -- except maybe some guild questlines -- really hit home. Also, early exploration was not encouraged, because as you travelled to new regions, the enemies there would be level-locked and provide garbage XP gains. Combined, the two were pretty pathetic and dragged down the game.

But on the bright side, the DLC was fairly good and the story wasn't too shabby (there are a few kickass moments for sure). Amalur may be kinda infamous due to Schilling's actions, but a second chance could lead to some life in the franchise, so this could be pretty awesome.

This is basically my stance, a lot of it was boring and forgettable, I enjoyed a lot of the story that Fable offered, the characters had charm, and it didn't feel like a drag.

There's always been a bit of a divide with this game, and it's often compared to Fable. While neither are perfect, I remember much more of Fable than I do Kingdoms of Amalur. I'd like to see what they could do with it in modern times should they make a sequel.

Fable is also a series with a lot of missed potential, but I feel Amalur, who's in similar circumstances, fares a little better. Fable has better villains and side cast, though. Sorry, Alyn Shir!

Agreed, and there were a LOT of big, unseen and unfulfilled promises from Molyneux, it was kind of the original No Man's Sky in that respect. I think what made Kingdoms a lot more appealing for people was that it really wasn't an AAA title that delivered on a lot more than expected. Maybe it was too ambitious in scale that it turned out to be a bit more dull than interesting in the long haul.

Honestly this. Sidequests are typical fetch quests and they try to throw a lot of them at you when you don't even need to do em because the levelling/game is pretty easy. I found myself just wanting to rush to the end about halfway in. No memorable characters but gameplay was pretty fun aside from those things

It was incredibly easy to break that game. Only thing that really sucked is each zone had this level lock thing where if you wanted the best loot you had to have achieved the max level for that individual zone. If you went in lower then that level, even just a step into that zone, the loot sucked.

I think it's only mistakes were releasing at the same time as Skyrim and being obvious that it was originally going to be an MMO.

It was never originally an MMO. The game was a prequel to an MMO that never happened. No MMO work had been done.

Might be the reason right there. Magic is the best class in that game. I'm currently going for a typical rouge and it's just not fun and the warrior skill tree looks even worse.
