Everything Nintendo Of America says publicly has to go through headquarters, and they probably dont care that much.

No doubt their public relations depts are cranking these out to look cool.

i think they did it out of pressure for PR purposes (not to mention Sony and MS). So many people complaining that they haven't, resetera in particular

At least one Nintendo store got looted. Every company now has to say something like this as a PR move to protect their stores and assets from being looted.

Really, its more like, if you dont blatantly come out in support of this, and support not only the protests, but the riots too, you get socially attacked.

Seeing a lot of companies come out and say shit. Most of which are doing it for PR reasons. Companies dont actually care about anything other than their bottom line, which could negatively be affected if the DONT support everything, including the criminal activity.
