I'm pretty sure the nation pretty much has a clear idea of blacks being targeted indiscriminately by police, but really... is the protests really going to accomplish anything?

People shouldn't just be protesting if they have no proper demands or solutions to spell out. Look at how HK demonstrators did it with their five demands. That's an end goal in sight. But for this protest, there's no clear objective laid out. It's basically just throwing a riot to show out emotions, not a proper proposition to give the government to consider.

And seriously speaking, how do you stop racism from happening? It's not like you can tell who is a racist when recruiting them as police officers

The problem is with the racists in charge and how they keep getting voted in cause people will always vote their side and not on policies or what they actually do. We gotta all vote, and not just for the president, for all government positions.

Ending institutional racism doesn't have a clear and path or set goal in mind, because it's so deeply ingrained into American culture. It's not like a ransom demand or a hostage situation.

You don't stop racism from happening.

The best you can do is raise and teach children equality the best you can but even that won't stop racism from rearing its ugly head in some form.

As for the police, you can only offer equality training and deal with violations of that training harshly. Unfortunately, if you see a racist piece of shit cop being a racist piece of shit and you report it higher you might find yourself without a job or find yourself getting bullied or without help when you need it.

The only real way to fix institutionalized racism in the police force is to stomp it every time you see it and arrest and jail violators, sympathizers, and cover uppers of the racism. But even that doesn't necessarily fix the issue because if you go too hard, because you run the risk of galvanizing the ones that get in trouble, especially if it's over something small in the eyes of the racist.

I hate to say it, but as much as peaceful protests might not do much....rioting might.

Americans have consistently shown that they don't give a fuck about anything until their own wealth and safety is at risk. It's sad.

I don't think riots will help anyone. They hurt everyone, specially the protesters. The racists in charge and their supporters are just going to lay low for a bit till things calm down and they are usually in the better position to recover from the damages.

Public opt in surveillance network. Start watching the people who are watching you. Have it be opt in and accessible by anybody.

If you give those who are acting in bad faith nobody to hide behind they're forced to alter their behavior(or...). There's already no chance of us getting rid of being spied on as a civilian in our lifetimes, so level the playing field and learn that a more level playing field forces people in charge to act more equitably. Don't rely on the Police to keep their bodycams on.
