So the public complaint is available now. No clue where to find it but details should be available soon. According to someone calling in who found it:

"the hennepin county medical examiner conducted the autopsy on 5/26"

Preliminary findings: "no physical findings that support traumatic asphyxiation to support a diagnosis of traumatic strangulation or asphyxiation"

Floyd had 'underlying conditions of "coronary artery disease" and "hypertensive heart disease" and the combination of the police force on him likely contributed.'

The knee was on Floyd's neck for 8 mins and 46 seconds, and Floyd was unresponsive for I think 2 mins and 56 seconds is what they said.

I was transcribing so not everything is 100% garmmatically clean, but I tried to ensure all the buzzwords were correct.

So this is going to be bad. Chauvin's attorney is the one who got the Philando Castille cop free. It's legit possible Chauvin walks free too if the lawyer can pin it all on Floyd's underlying conditions.

Will try to find link to full report, should be easier to find soon.

Floyd was "non-responsive" for nearly 3 minutes before officer took knee off his neck, complaint says

The combined effect of George Floyd being restrained by the police, along with his underlying health conditions and any potential intoxicants in his system, "likely contributed to his death," according to the criminal complaint for former Minneapolis Police Officer Derek Chauvin.

Floyd had underlying health conditions, including coronary artery disease and hypertensive heart disease, the complaint said, citing a preliminary autopsy conducted by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner.

Chauvin had his knee on Floyd's neck for 8 minutes and 46 seconds in total, and 2 minutes and 53 seconds after Floyd was unresponsive, the complaint said.

The complaint noted that police are trained that this type of restraint with a subject in a "prone position is inherently dangerous."

Floyd's autopsy also found "no physical findings that support a diagnosis of traumatic asphyxia or strangulation."

The autopsy was included in the criminal complaint released by the Hennepin County Attorney's Office in the arrest of Chauvin.

Chauvin has been charged withthird-degree murder and manslaughter, according to Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman.

So you can beat someone to death but as long as he has a heart attack during the beating its fine? It will be a ridiculous injustice if he somehow gets off on that ludicrous defense.

dont think it really matters. excessive force is excessive force, he might not have choked out but having someones knee on your neck like that could easily set off a heart attack.

People have used that to say that Eric Garner wasn't murdered by police. And sadly it will probably be used this time as well.

The video evidence of Chauvins knee on Floyds neck is pretty damning evidence itself. How anyone can watch that video and suggest that it played no part in Floyd dying is willfully ignorant.

He can still be charged and convicted of 3rd degree murder. Basically he didnt intend to kill, but acted without regard for human life. Performing an unsafe restraint led to choking, which ultimately led to a heart attack. So the officer is looking at up to 15 years in prison.

I don;t get how the "He didn't intend to kill" line works when the guy said he couldn't breathe, then went limp and a ton of people said "Stop! he can't breathe! You're killing him!" for several minutes

How can you argue intent wasn't there at that point? Is the cop deaf and blind?

You cant prove his intent. You can speculate it, but speculation is not how court works. Unless he said something to implicate his intent to kill the man, admits intent, or they can find something tangible to indicate intent all theyd be doing is trying to jail him for a thought he MIGHT have had. Thats why hes being charged with 3rd degree murder. Gives the prosecution the best case. Nothing else sticks.
