This is gonna present itself as a big issue in the upcoming years, as people attempt to pretend autism isn't a disorder.

Adopting this child was likely a stunt/PR move to begin with from the looks of it, this is shameful, and they are terrible people.

I can't even imagine the difficulties of raising an autistic child. That said, to intentionally take on those difficulties and adopt an autistic child means that just giving up a couple years later and giving him back makes you trash tbh

hope the kid is young enough not to remember them

sounds like it, they have monetized content related to him. Enough of that would offset the costs and start making them profit

Maybe they should have focused on taking care of their child instead of making a shitty YouTube show.

How many children did they have when they chose to adopt the boy from China? Seems they have at least 4 others, but one of them is younger than 2 years.

literally never heard about these people before.

are they trying to turn their personal lives into a lifetime movie for YouTube? Is that their gimmick?

shitty if they adopted a special needs kid for a popularity boost, but Im just going to hope this part is true

He is thriving, he is happy, he is doing really well, and his new mommy has medical professional training, and it is a very good fit."

well, better parents that know how to take care of him than not.

still, adopting only to pass the buck is just... especially since they're feeding off public attention xd

On the one hand I cant imagine caring for a special needs child, especially with undisclosed needs on top of what you knew already. But on the other hand hes not a fucking dog you take back because he destroyed your couch.

I really hope they remove the monetized content involving Huxley.

Right now it looks like they adopted a child to make money and when the money didn't make sense anymore they dumped him off.

Yeah I get the vibe that his medical needs were going to cost more than his YT ad revenue

Except that's exactly what they did. I wonder if they will "re-home" any of their other kids if they become an inconvenience, or maybe they didn't consider the adopted kid one of their own to begin with. In any case, them.

I read a claim that he was violent with their other children and was a considerably better fit elsewhere, so it was in everyone's best interest for him to go with another family. What they did was gross as hell and they should have their whole youtube channel nuked, at the very least, but if it works out best for the kid, meh.

It's really fucked up how people are using "rehome" about this. People are doing it to try to shit on the parents without seeming to realize that they're choosing to refer to this child like a pet.

But anyway, supposedly they were unsure about adopting a special needs child to begin with but decided to go ahead with it, and once they got him back here they found out that they had been greatly misled about the severity of his issues. Putting the kid in the best situation for his needs is not the wrong thing to do, but when do we ever let that stop us from a good old fashioned dog pile.

I have trouble believing that numerous medical professionals advised them to give this child to someone else

Rehoming is a common word in the foster care system. It doesn't say if these parents are fosters, probably not, or if they were they're definitely not anymore.
