My Valium I've been on for 11 years now is sitting at the pharmacy, but they're closed for memorial day. So I called another Walgreens that IS open, and they say they can't transfer over the prescription because it's a controlled substance. So I ask her what I'm supposed to do so I don't die and she says to just go to the ER.....the fuck

What's your dosage at? Do you have access to another GABAergic like phenibut? I've used that to cycle benzos in the past and it's fine, still hella uncomfortable during the first 30 hours of withdrawal but it keeps the seizures away until you can get your medicine.

Honestly, your best bet is to just go to urgent care and explain the situation since they can write you a prescription for just a day's worth, but it's still gonna cost you at least $100.

It's not early though. The prescription is sitting in the store right now ready to go. There's just no one there to give it to me. You know, this is why I hate pill heads. Makes it so much more difficult for people with a legitimate condition/prescription to get their stuff.

Somehow I don't think a life or death medicine would be distributed such that the entire supply would be used before any more could be acquired while also being closed on the day required to get it. Obviously you can't stockup but there's no way in hell that they'd have been unable to fill it yesterday or whatever.

That's really all that matters here, it sucks but in the end it's your fault. I learned that lesson the hard way one time, the humiliation of having to go to the emergency room to beg for some Tarcoliums sticks with me even 10 years later. Always stay on top of your medication orders and refills, TC.

You're not the only one who's used benzos my guy. Withdrawals will start if you miss a day but you wont die if you're getting the refill tomorrow morning

I only do that because I've encountered shitty doctors that have nearly killed me from pulling me off of them cold turkey (no doctor worth their degree will do this, and it's absolutely idiotic)

If for some reason your physician is maintaining seizure control with diazepam and not for acute seizures then you need to find another physician. Much better, cleaner agents out there without the addiction profile of benzos

You're neglecting science 101: not everyone's the same. Our bodies respond differently. It's just how it is. Pretending that, because you took it before what happened or didn't happen to you will also happen or not happen to someone else is just silly.

Saying that the major, dangerous withdrawal symptoms won't start for a week is just ignorant and harmful.

It's not for seizures. You CAN have seizures from withdrawal and it doesn't have some magical number of hours that it will wait for that to be a possibility. That's not how it works.

That was exaggeration because I see plenty of people have rxs ready for days on end then complain when theyve had that long to pick it up

also half life between benzo products differ greatly. If you were taking something like alprazolam that doesnt shock me in the slightest

watch for signs and symptoms and be prepared to get to the ED if thats the case. I didnt read through the topic, whats the indication for the med and the dosage?

I'd honestly talk to your doctor about finding alternate solutions that last a little longer. Speaking as someone who has a blood pressure condition unrelated to weight, when my doctor switched me from 3 pills ever day(1 every 8 hours) to just 1 pill every 24 hours it was a game changer.

Not saying you wouldn't need to take pills anymore, but if there is an option similar to diabetes medicine where you can wear an electronic device that gives you your meds without the need of pills, it's something to think about.

*customer service voice* be sure to sign up for text message and email reminders for when your medication is ready for pickup or any obstacles we might run into with filling it.
