There's too many good consoles to fit in a bracket of 16 these days, but not nearly enough for 32. Even if consoles would make for a great contest, it'd be awkward to hold it now.

ok as a minor contest is really faint praise. I think with as rare as contests are, we should be aiming higher than that.

Just as a note, the contest can feature descriptions of the consoles' history and data, as well as images of different models that hit the market, and of course, information about the most noteworthy games.

I would definitely swap some things around but I like that bracket, would definitely enjoy a contest like that, even if someone ran it on the board (which I think someone did a while back?)

If we have like a full year between the end of Systems and the start of something else, then it's not for me. I do feel as though we should have it, because it's different to anything else and there's been speculation about it for over a decade, but it's not interesting enough to carry an entire year on its own.

this sums up my feelings on it.

i think it's worthwile to have unique subject matter in a contest, and i do think it's a contest worth having at least once (which is more than i can say for the quotes contest or worst character ever). but if we're going to only have one contest in the next five years then yeah, skip it.
