We spend all these billions of dollars on our military but if we ever went to war with China, they could wipe us out in less than 30 mins. Pretty sobering isn't it? It's wasted dollars. I have been ringing the alarm bell for years.

How much does a diet coke or a pound of beef cost in the US? How much does it cost in china? It doesn't matter if you outspend a chinese guy 10 to 1, he will still buy more of "x" amount than you.

Also, defense spending is over-inflated. It's basically good old boys buying from good old boys, at prices set to take care of fellow good old boys, using outdated, archaic, arcane purchasing vehicles. If they sold pencils they'd probably cost 10$ per pencil.

Adding to that, their purchases are not strategic, they're made to benefit contractors. It's like MOOAARR TAANKKSSSS!! MOOAARRRR ROCKETS!!! GO BOOM!. Need more stategic missiles? Need more drones? Need cyber warefare? SHUT UP AND TAKE THESE 100000 TANKS!

It's cute people think the money we spend on our military actually goes towards the military and it's equipment.

They're not going to nuke us. They're going to screw us over in more covert ways.

Military spending mostly goes to the military industrial complex anyway. It's an easy way to create jobs as well so no politician wants to cut anything and lose support.

No country's anti-missile defense system can withstand multiple waves of ICBMs. They'd wipe us out, we'd wipe them out. That's how MAD works. There's no guaranteed first strike without also dying yourself.

To counter all of those solutions would be a logistical nightmare because we have so many that are ready to go at the drop of a phone call.

We have more nukes, but China has the best and most devastating nuclear arsenal. The vast majority of our nukes are obsolete and likely wouldn't even work.

Additionally, the first nuclear launch from China(the D-41) would already completely wipe the United States off the map. The retaliation from us would come before that 30 min and would wipe China out too. Both countries would be completely wiped out but our extinction would come first.

China can sneak their subs within nuke distance of our carrier groups without us detecting them. That was 15 years ago. This should scare you. Chances are in the opening minutes of a war with China we'd lose most of our naval capacity as they repeat this feat again and again with a nuke primed.

Having better planes, jets, carriers is all irrelevant. They possess the most powerful nuclear weapon on the planet. With one push of a button, the entire US would be wiped out in 30 mins. In a war with zero nukes, of course we'd win - but you can guarantee that if we ever went to war with China, it would turn nuclear and both countries would be wiped out. None of our advanced air or naval power would mean shit-all.

And btw, we need China far more than they need us. Any complete cutoff between the two countries would lead to our economy crashing far worse than theirs.
