RFK starts going after New Orleans boss Carlos Marcello and gets him deported to Guatemala. They don't want him and he's deported to various different South American countries, even having to cross the border from El Salvador to Honduras on foot. This embarrasses and enrages Marcello who eventually is able to return to the US. Lee Harvey Oswald lived in NO shortly before the assassination with his uncle. His uncle was a bookmaker who worked for Carlos Marcello's organization. Jack Ruby had a history with the mob and ran a club at the time that was the hangout for local mafia guys, many who worked for Joe Civillo, Carlos Marcello's underboss. Oswald could have been a hitman. He could have been a disturbed radical made into a patsy who was pushed into doing an extreme act. Or it's all just a bunch of coincidences. I've also read that RFK's killer, Sirhan Sirhan was known to hang around race tracks whose betting operations belonged to Carlos Marcello.
