I've warmed up to Blonde a little since then but I'll still never forget my initial reaction to it: "that's it lol?!"

I think once you look past the avant-garde, minimalist sound of Blonde it's pretty apparent which one is better

But nooo, guess which one people ended up putting on a pedestal instead in almost every way

Nights and Skyline To still knock, I'll give it that

Got nothing on Pyramids or Lost though

I know he's capable of making that good shit nowadays too: Chanel came out the year afterwards and it's better than half of Blonde

I dunno what his next album will be like this year but based on the singles I hope it's less Blonde sadboy shit, Weeknd already got that down to a science

Also all the interludes on Channel Orange help shape the album while the ones on Blonde were near-instant deletes

I thought the general consensus was that BLONDE was trash. Only song I liked on there was Pink+White.

Blonde is definitely great though.

As much as I love Channel Orange I really appreciate him doing something completely different on his second album even if I didn't like it initially. Being able to show that amount of range is what separates artists like Kanye, Frank, and Kendrick from the others in my opinion.

All the random background noise at the end of Ivy

The ending of the album is literally on some Revolution 9 shit, a bunch of random interviews over fucking white noise

Channel Orange had its own interludes but it actually felt like it added to the album, I never skip Fertilizer, Not Just Money, White, or even the Outro because the album earned those interludes

Blonde has the mom from the first album talking about why drugs and alcohol is bad and Im just like okay? lol
