I'd rate it a solid 7. Fun matches, some close, but sort of low on drama. Better than 2018 so far for sure.

5. Kind of boring for me so far. I always enjoy getting insight into the community, but the fact is, I haven't played the vast majority of these games. As the decade wore on, I played less and less video games as I got older simply because of time and money constraints. So the matches mean less to me I guess. Plus, there really haven't been that many barn burners or upsets.

This year's 2nd chance contest is a very clever, fresh way to do it, so we'll see how that goes.

It's not interesting or terrible.

Luckily, it doesn't replace the Poll of the Day, because then it would be a 2/10.

7 seems about right. Fodderific Round 1 with many poorly performing indies disguised a lot of actual strength/weakness in Round 2. It's had its dud divisions, like most contests, but there's been a lot of excitement and even a healthy share of nailbiters. Could go up or down depending on if BotW is made to look like ANYTHING can punch it in the teeth, or if it's just gonna casually roll everything else (which seems probable).

About as good as it could be given the low votals and series restrictions.

I also voted 7, mostly because this contest got me interested in a lot of newer games. Though it helps that games from later in the decade tend to interest me more I think.

R1 was a complete snoozefest aside from Celeste/Rayman
R2 had Shovel Knight/Octopath, and P4G/RDR
R3 had the excellent RE2/Bloodborne match and the satisfying PG4 > GTAV result.

R4 and beyond are super predictable, barring rallies. Smash/Odyssey and RE2/ME2 are the only true head-scratchers.

Too much fodder hurt the bracket IMO, and the abysmal votals are disappointing.

I give it a 6. I'm disappointed that my favorite game of all time, Xenoblade X, got robbed of a chance due to series restrictions, and that I was forced to choose between my second and third favorite games of all time, Xenoblade and Fire Emblem Three Houses so early on.
