So for transparency, the crisis was that for the second time in our history, I had to re-sim a portion of the week. During the preseason, we had a scare where the game kept freezing on me. Even though the source of the issue was found, I have been cautious since and only sim 2-3 games at a time before saving and repeat the process until the week is over. Well, after the conclusion of the sim, I informed of users who needed to make transactions due to injuries and I received other inquiries/change requests too. I thought that I had saved in the midst of this, so when I made a critical error in a request, I backed out of the game and went back thinking I could easily redo what I needed to.

It turns out that I had last saved with three games left to sim, including one game that had a ton of injuries and some post-injury signings. The other two games (Dolphins/Jets and Vikings/Packers) were relatively easy to replicate both winning team and injuries, but the Bears/Steelers took forever to get a result that felt close enough to work with.

The Bills have always been known for our very thorough, detailed self-analysis and disciplined decision making. We don't make knee jerk decisions. We calmly evaluate our options in order to find the best possible solutions for our organization. So now, after having reviewed the film and having considered all the options for this team moving forward this season, I'd like to announce that we've come to the conclusion that going forward, Tom Henley will be our starting QB.

We have all the confidence in the world in Tom, and we feel good about our chances as we go into the bye week. This will give him more time to prepare as starter ahead of our Week 5 match-up against our 3rd straight crappy opponent that we have no excuse for losing to. If things don't turn around against the Bucs, then best of luck to our head coach and offensive coordinator on finding a flight out of Tampa. They will certainly not be joining us on the team plane back to Buffalo. I could go on a tirade where I berated our pathetically inept coaching staff for their generally awful performance over the last 2 seasons, but I know all of this will be unnecessary in two weeks when Tom Henley makes his mark on this franchise and leads the Bills out from the depths of despair into the heights of B8NFLL prosperity.

If not, this coaching staff will suffer a fate worse than Derek Carr's torn bicep, Garrett Bolles' torn hamstring, Phil Loadholt's Broken Collarbone, and Matt Flynn's Broken Vertebrae all put together.

Let's just say I've been in contact with Bills Mafia.

GO BILLS!

Well that's....somehow worse than his original line

Poor rookie 69 OVR DT3 Jackson putting up 3 Sacks that he may not see in his entire career again. 74 OVR rookie QB3 Dobbs also did pretty good (6-6 for 63 yards 1 TD, 3 rushes for 25 yards).

Took KCF hours of resetting to get something close to the injury matches. I was trying to think of workarounds. Was annoyed at myself for not thinking of the most obvious one until this morning. Could have just not IR'ed McNeal and sat him until Week 10. Which is what I would have done all along if Dobbs wasn't injured for only 1 week which forced me to sign another QB.

8th on Offense, 13th on Defense (resim helped these a little by adding ~70 yards O and reducing 20 yards D) and yet 1-3 overall with a tough schedule still to come. Ugh, can't really make changes as the team is performing well, they just aren't winning games.

I wish my run defense was better but I don't even know where to start to make moves to improve it.

Anyway, I'll be working on the stats sheet again today.

My eternal torment.

I could hazard a guess at where I could maybe make a change but it's easier said than done.

DE Ingram to a run stopping DE (which I technically have in Beardless but he hasn't done anything to suggest he's starting caliber)
FS Campbell to a balanced or hard hitting FS (he's likely a coverage FS. High caliber FS'es aren't exactly easy to find. He's also just signed a new contract)
DT McCoy to a run stopping DT (Can't make a move for cap reasons)
OLB Tulloch to a run stopping OLB (Would have to wait until he retires in 1-2 seasons as despite him being exceptional, I doubt anyone is trading for a 33 old OLB even if he's high end)

This season Ingram is probably the only change I could make but I'd probably have to make a trade as benching him would lead to regression. Finding a trade partner would be tough though.

So the time has come. The Chiefs will be signing new starting K Cody Parkey to a 1 year deal.

Too bad we can't face rookie and 3rd string QBs every week. We're gonna get skullfucked by the rest of this schedule

At this point, we'll just ride out the rest of the season with Nixon at QB. The results really don't warrant a change.

Trade Report!

Packers Receive:
Pioneers 1st Round Pick
Pioneers 2nd Round Pick
Bears 5th Round Pick
DT Joe Upshaw (86 overall, 29 years old)

Bears Receive:
DT Red Bryant (91 overall, 33 years old)
DE Everson Griffen (90 overall, 25 years old)

Packers incur a cap penalty of $3.13 next year but gain immediate cap relief in $9.23 mil
Bears incur a $1.75 cap penalty next year while the Bears end up with about $1 million left in cap space

Not happy with their 2-4 start, the Packers have decided to waive the white flag and get a jump start on rebuilding the team by acquiring cap relief, two early picks, and a good DT still in his 20s to replace Bryant.

The Bears are eyeing a wild card spot and armed with extra draft picks, they went for one of the best DTs in the game in Red Bryant and perhaps more importantly, a young DE who has had double digit sacks in each of his first three seasons.

Both teams understood the trade parameters, what each team hoped to gain from the trade, and the financial implications. It took some work, but presumably both parties also understand the histories of all players involved.

This trade has been approved and is effective immediately.
