This is the worst part of it for those of us who follow what Phil is doing. If things had gone really badly for him, it would have been entertaining. I would love to see him flail and rage as he was forced to finally deal with the consequences of over a decade of terrible financial decisions. Instead, nothing changes.

This was a huge win for him. Sure, he is miserable and will continue to be miserable while begging strangers for money so that he can continue to play games he hates. But that was never going to improve: being able to maintain that lifestyle was always the best-case scenario. He doesn't want to change or get better. It's impossible to know whether or not he actually believes he has a good life (like he tells his viewers he does), but given who he is, his life is as good as it's going to get. A loss would have been his having to make difficult changes to that life--moving to an apartment, getting a normal job, having to face actual consequences of his actions.

I really wish the original Drgnkiller/DSPArchives Twitter account was still up, 'cause he had this screencap that I think was after the Emerald7 arc where Country of Afghanistan gave him $100, to which he had the biggest t-pose and grin that I've never seen replicated since. That, and his reaction to getting $1k on that Christmas podcast thing are the last times I remember a happy Paul.

All things considered, I'd hardly call this a win for him.

1) His credit will be so bad he will likely be unable to get any lines of credit approved for years.
2) He still has to pay his back taxes
3) The owners of his debt for the CTkahndo can definitely still go after him for the remaining value of the mortgage, that has not been discharged
4) It is very likely he will find himself having further financial troubles as long as he is addicted to gacha gambling.

Anyone who thought he'd end up in jail or homeless were being ridiculous, and maybe got themselves a little too emotionally invested instead of just watching and laughing like any good detractor should

But now he has his debt bills and legal fee gone. So that is two bills he no longer has, and I'm a firm believer that he was doing just fine and played up how close he was month to month anyways.

This is someone who reported $5k in expenses (a month!) on his bankruptcy form. Even if part of that was the mortgage payment, that's still a lot of expenses for a normal person to be reporting, especially for a couple. I'm not exactly good with money, but I never saw someone so horrible with money that he spends so much a month, especially a streamer who does the bare minimum to support his actual job.

Does he have lights for his stream? I know his camera is a pretty poor one, from what I've heard, plus he doesn't seem to invest much in the way of money into any other aspect. When you look at other streamers, who actually care about their stream (some with a lot less viewers than Phil), it's sickening. His legacy is a shitshow and will always be one. He will never be known for anything positive.

He said he is a variety streamer, because some people want to watch him fail, while others want to come chill for Animal Crossing.

He doesn't see himself like we see him. When he says people are jealous of him, it's not meant ironically.

Most people are able to look at themselves in the mirror and admit they fucked up their lives. Phil can't. The waiving of the credit card debt, the income (ignoring how he gets that income), the fact that he is isloated, he all sees that as a win.

I mean sure, I would love to be able to play games for a living, I guess most people here would (we are on gameFAQs after all), but not a single one of us would lower ourselves even halfway to Phil's level in order to do so. No one us would choose to treat our friends and family like dirt, no one us would treat our audience like shit and walking ATMs nor would we throw them under the bus after they'd stop being "useful". We would treat anyone and everyone with proper respect.

On top of that, Phil lives in a constant state of fear. He is deathly afraid of going outside. Phil honestly believes that he is going to get hounded/attacked/insulted when he goes outside. The truth is, no one would give a shit if they bumped into Phil in the "wild". Phil makes it sound like there are thousands of people out there to get them. Even if there were people in the direct vicinity of Phil, no one would go out of their way to spite him.

And honestly, if Phil was my son, I'd be beyond ashamed.Here is a man that only calls you if he needs something from you. Be it money, or have you paint his house, or what have you. You are nothing more to him than a means to an end. Imagine giving your son 4.000 dollars to help with his taxes, only to find out that he hasn't paid his taxes in 2 years and who fucking years so who knows what happened to that money. This is your son, who makes over 100.000 dollars a year but is somehow 500.000 dollars in the shitter. That includes the money you have given him over all these years.

I would honestly disown the fuck out of him, even if he was my only child. Because if I'd be leaving anything of value behind, you know he is going to fuck it up one way or another. Have your money go to charity, friends, anything is better than the financial black hole that is Phil.
