Well done steak is fine. It tastes great if you season it, which everyone should be doing and presumably already does, it can be soft and delectable to eat, and even if it is a bit tough - you don't wear dentures, do you? Can you really not get a chunk of cooked steak down your throat hole unless it's partially uncooked? If you're more of a medium rare type of person, that's fine, but people who eat steak where the inside is the consistency of jello - I just don't get it.

I don't get steak when I go out to eat - I'm all about those chicken schnitzels, personally. But I have a friend who goes for well done steak, and everywhere I've seen him order something well done, it's been burned to a crisp. I'm talking to the point of charcoal being all over it, to the outside of the steak basically having a shell of charcoal that makes everything else about the steak literally inedible. It's shit like that that gives well-done beef a bad rap.

All that well-done means is that it's cooked all the way through, like chicken. The color on the outside is similar to or slightly darker than the color on the inside. It isn't always tough, but when it is, it's usually not that bad if you have a functioning set of teeth and a jaw that actually works. Y'all assholes talk about how "you might as well go and eat boot leather", but if you really think it's that bad, I seriously think the problem is with you. I've had tough steaks before, and I understand the disdain for chewy beef - not all well-done steak is created equal, and when you get a bad steak, it is really bad. But lumping it all under "inedible filth" is a personal failing on your part, not on the category of well-done meat.

One thing I'll agree with steak snobs on is that tomato sauce is garbage - I only eat it to cover up the blandness of something like a bad sausage or your average hot dog. That, and occasionally some chilled tomato sauce goes well on a sausage roll or a meat pie. But tomato sauce doesn't belong on a well seasoned steak, unless that steak is outright garbage.

My issue was with the glut of "X is WARNED" topics that came out afterwards, where the in-fighting from the generals continued rather than focusing on the topic at hand. It was bad enough that I honestly would have preferred for the general to stay open, or for the warned topics to become off-limits entirely, because a bunch of soggy biscuits kept pushing the same shitty drama that had gotten the generals banned in the first place.

The threads are there to talk about the user and what they did, not bitch about "urr GOATS blocked ME and then TAGGED me, HE should be BANNED" - we're talking about another shitty 462 alt getting warned, get your stupid horseshit out if the thread and cry about it elsewhere. I didn't like the generals, but I did like the threads - so when the shitheads from the general resumed their drama in the threads and made each thread a General-Lite, I got a bit ass-blasted about it.

Now that the clique has calmed the fuck down and board members outside of that circle are interacting with the warned threads more, I'm happy. I preferred warned threads before the general, and I prefer the warned threads now.

The Warned Generals were closed because the allowed users to maintain the topic series at that time started using it to troll people instead of using the topic for its purpose. Yes I would have preferred it be open to everyone and everyone freely post but once people started using it as a way to act superior it has losted its cause. These individual topics are 100x better as we all came to see.

I'll clarify. When I say "I would have preferred the general to stay open" at the time, rather than have the same cliques spreading their drama across 4-5 simultaneous threads and derailing them, I mean that I would have preferred the general to stay open as a form of containment. The dipshits who were invested in the drama were spilling out and ruining each individual thread, and that bothered me at the time. I would have preferred them to go and isolated themselves instead of fucking everything else up.

Everything else in my previous post agrees with what you're saying here. I'm harsher on the topic as a whole, not just the users who were allowed to maintain the thread, but otherwise I think we agree more on the individual threads than we disagree.

That's fair enough. I disagree, purely on the basis that I prefer my meat to be cooked through, but I respect the preferences of others.
