No, not particularly. It has lower response times but colors take hit.

For everyday/everything use, look for a VA panel. It is a middle ground between both LCD techs.

what about these?

AOC C32G1 32" Curved Frameless Gaming Monitor, FHD 1920x1080, VA panel, 1ms MPRT, 144Hz, FreeSync, DisplayPort/HDMI/VGA, VESA

Acer R240HY Abmidx 23.8" Full HD (1920 x 1080) VA Monitor (HDMI, DVI & VGA Ports)

BenQ PD3200Q DesignVue 32 inch 1440p QHD VA Monitor | AQCOLOR Technology for Accruate Reproduction

Your monitor needs to be paired with your graphics card. Meaning you dont want a 144Hz monitor paired with a 1050Ti.

You're thinking gsync/freesync, hz is irrelevant. Sure the 1050 probably won't ever hit 144 but it won't affect anything other than cost.

BenQ makes good monitors. I've purchased two and imo they're almost as good as Dell UltraSharps (prob what I think is the best all-around monitor)

I'm sure there are gaming oriented monitors that handle high fps better than BenQ and Dell, but they're both great for light gaming and media consumption

The name of the thread is worth it.

Right, and 1080p 144hz is absolutely worth it even if for future machines. Better to have 144hz than not.

So the questions are...

1. Whats your GPU?
2. What frame rate are you getting in game?
3. What kind of games are you playing?
4. Are you interested in using this monitor beyond gaming? If so, for what?

  1. I have a NVIDIA Geforce GTX 1060 3gb GPU
  2. I have no idea, that should tell you the type of PC gamer I am lol
  3. Usually Paradox games, Fallout 4, might get call of duty, Total war games, Skyrim, etc
  4. Other than internet browsing not really...I might make a twitch streaming account lol

Actually the one I posted might not have freesync or gsync, but it doesn't really matter. You're going to pay a little more for gsync anyway it seems.

You already bought it? Ugh. You shouldnt have taken that guys advice. You would have been better off aiming for a 1080p/60Hz IPS monitor. Or even the VA like the other guy suggested. You dont play enough shooters to justify downgrading to a TN panel just for a 1ms response time.

Ideally you want both but when on a budget 144hz>IPS, and TN panels aren't even bad.

On every level, no.

You can pick any thread on the matter across the internet and lots of people will agree with me, lots will agree with you. They're opinions, and mine is for $200 144hz TN>60hz-75hz IPS
