I found out "recently" that this cartoon is not as commonly known as I thought it was:Huh, how about that? I recall seeing that when I was too young to read. I'm glad I learned what movie it was about five years ago. Another one that I had been trying to find for years was Footroot Flats. It's comedic but not childish, with a few dark and dramatic moments. One that comes to mind is when the main character (a dog) freaks out when the bone he finds in his steel barrel/dog house is a (strikingly accurate depiction of a) clean-picked cow skull. On the other end, it has this amusing segment. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fk_BZGJpmBg Also, if you can, check out animated Asterix movies from the Asterix and Cleopatra up to Asterix in Britain. --- Sigs are rather pointless, except if it's to showcase animation and images. ... I haven't seen it, but there's a Hungarian animated film called Son of the White Mare from '81, famed for its trippy animation and epic, mythical storytelling. Its been restored, and will have a (limited, probably) theatrical release and home video release some time in the near future. It looks frickin' cool amd weird. Here's a link, complete with trailer:

not a movie, but there was the Adventures of Mark Twain series in the 80sTwain actually is a movie, as far as I can tell its just divided into various episodic encounters or adventures. Either way, that's one I need to see too. Also its way past the threshold TC was asking for, and not *terribly* obscure, but there's a 1954 adaptation of Animal Farm which is a popular classic in England, and Britain's first animated feature. I haven't seen it, either, but if one is looking for animated movies, it seems like something worth keeping in mind! And while we're on the subject of obscure animated films that are older than the 70s and 80s, might as well go the whole distance: the earliest surviving animated feature is The Adventures of Prince Achmed, from 1926, and its on Blu-ray and probably available for streaming somewhere. Its a film made of cutout silhouettes and illustrated backgrounds, and also a silent film, so its quite simple, but trippy and beautiful. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=afbqD4Rn_hQ --- Remember that during the crisis, the heroes were not politicians, CEOs or billionaires, but doctors, janitors, and service workers.
