Since I'm not really strapped for money, so if I even get it... I guess I'll just put it in the stock and futures markets with the rest.

Distributing money to the homeless is not hard, they pretty much all have a tax ID, so you give them somewhere they can go to get a card with money on it based on their tax ID/Social Security number.

It's not hard at all.

And for the homeless you could just make it food stamps I guess. I can't solve every problem, I just don't think taking away most of the things they use to survive and not giving them anything to replace it is a good idea for society.

This is my last comment to you because you are obtuse on a level that I cannot work around.

You are criticizing an ECONOMIC STIMULUS policy because, in your infinite wisdom and being so well informed on this issue, don't think it works as a SOCIAL WELFARE policy.

Which to rip off a guy that actually was smart, makes about as much sense as judging the design of a fish by its ability to climb trees.

Jesus fucking christ. I'm done with you. I think you're better off continuing to make your utterly false and hysterical posts about how everyone is getting arrested for leaving their homes. This discussion is way above your capabilities.

I'm wondering something. Serious question. Never filed taxes before. I had $100 income from online surveys and whatnot. I'm an adult living with my parents. If I were to try to file taxes right now, could I get a coronavirus check? I notice they removed the "$2,500 minimum qualifying income".

It looks like they changed it to every american with a social security number now.

Which leads to the question if kids now get the full $1200, since they have a SS#....it's kinda confusing tbh.

It is. Very confusing. Sometimes I see conflicting or outdated info. I always read that they're using tax returns, though, and that it was $500 per child.

As for me, I wonder if I'd just embarrass myself at H&R Block. Ehh, we'll see. But if I get a chance at that check...

Maybe we'll find out more when the House votes.

This is the new info we have on the bill, that was passed yesterday at least. Mind you it still has to pass the House.

They probably won't actually amend the bill at this point because it already passed the senate.

Anyway here is what it says currently.

The bill authorizes a direct payment of $1,200 to every U.S. resident with a social security number who makes up to $75,000 per year, plus $500 per child. People who earn more than $75,000 will receive a smaller payment and the checks are phased out completely for people who make over $99,000.

As you can see it's ambigous as children are US residents with social security numbers. Did they just not realize this? The wording as of now, makes it seem like every child will get $1200 as well AND the parents will get an extra $500 per child lol.

From what I've seen it's supposed to be based on your 2019 tax return (or 2018 if you haven't filed yet). Most likely if you've checked the box on your return that you can be claimed as a dependent, you get nada, while your parents or whoever claimed you as a dependent would get the extra $500.

I'm not a "u gon", but that's not a bad idea! Since I'm staying at home more, it's been a few years since I practiced much, but I could get a nice single action revolver, handload some cartridges with wax bullets, go to the basement and work on my gun spinning, fast draw, and trick shooting.

Right, which means the people supporting you need it most.

If you need income to turn your life around, and someone is already providing you with food and shelter, sounds like you need to get a job, not a government handout.

If your pride is getting in the way of you taking an entry level job, get over it. Even if you feel you're overqualified for bagging groceries or scrubbing floors, prospective hirers would much rather see you've got something on your resume rather than sitting on your ass and picking your nose.
