Was a Lyft driver, but the combo of me not feeling safe and drastically less rides available kind of cuts that option out.

I assume way more people than ever are ordering delivery at this moment. It seems like a relatively safe thing to be doing right now. Less close contact. Don't have to worry about disinfecting my car. I assume many customers will allow me to set their food down outside their door and businesses will allow me to pick it up at the curb

Any thoughts? Anyone else do this type of job in not pandemic times?

I planned to do this job eventually anyways, but I'm considering it more strongly.

Seems like a good steady stream during a time like this as long as you're okay with the possibility of getting infected yourself by being around so many people

It would appear so on the surface, but I was talking here [top5 US city in terms of population] with an Uber driver who does Uber eats, and she said volume of deliveries is much less despite everyone staying home, Uber eats offering $0 deliveries, etc. Was quite surprised by that.

Normally she'd do 10-12 of those a day, but in recent days it has dwindled to 2 or less.

I did it once before the outbreak. It was pretty simple and easy. The easiest bucks I've ever made. I stopped doing it because I got hired at another job.

Did some on Friday and got some free Benihanas over a canceled order ayy lmao

I normally do Uber but I'm trying to avoid people in my car until this mostly blows over

What meal delivery service app have you been driving for? Has it been at least somewhat decent money? Like I'm talking if I can still make $10 or a bit under an hour to do it at this time it'd probably still be worth it. I'm kind of out of work for the most part over this.

You'd have to cherry pick but they at least tell you how much you'd be making per order first; I never do anything less than $5-$6

Wait at home for the first notification then I pull over after every delivery lol

I don't want to give per hour because I don't want to set the wrong expectations because nothing is guaranteed, but I can usually get $8-$10 per delivery

Are you experiencing a lot less available work with the pandemic situation?

As a lyft driver work has basically died to the point it is barely worth it. Not to mention the risk behind the pandemic.
