Both are just things that exist outside of anyone's control, they serve no purpose I guess, if someone with some higher education or at least someone who did some good faith research could come in here and explain what the universe would be without quantum mechanics that would be great but otherwise no one can tell you that The way I look at quantum mechanics (my own hunch) is the universe reverting to chaos where it's not needed to be structured to maintain life, and we can only exist to witness the universe when the universe has the proper structure to maintain life. Kind of like how the side of the road has ditches and is overgrown with weeds, that's not where the people are walking or driving.
