Had it been a spin off aka non numbered main entry it may have cut out a lot of the hate it initially got though. I personally feel the title final fantasy is both a blessing and a curse. A game that wouldn't have got such great reviews if NOT for the ip. Breath of the wild. Being a Zelda game give it an extra 2 points out of 10 for me in most the reviews I saw. It was/is a good game, but not a great one and definitely not a great Zelda. Having Hideo Kojima presents... Also stopped Death Stranding from an absolute mauling, I've never ever EVER seen so many people say they hate a game, or that it's boring, only to then give it a good score anyway or to recommend it regardless. If that game had come from an unknown studio, it would have been panned to high heaven with a 40% or so Metacritic.
