Honestly Trump's strategy from February was wait until April. So the strategy is changing on a daily basis but I'm pretty sure if it comes down to shutting down the country for a year vs letting the virus run free, they'll go with the latter because it's better for Trump's reelection.

The strategy is shut down, it comes back, shut down again, rinse and repeat until vaccine is made.

That's why I keep saying I don't know if I agree with this strategy.

The report estimates doing nothing with 4-6 million american deaths.

The report estimates with mitigation 2-3 million american deaths.

The report estimates with suppression around 700,000 american deaths.

This doesn't include deaths that happen relating to this such as no hospital beds for people who need them or suicides from people who lose their livelihoods, etc.

One should never assume that Trump is basing his strategy off of anything as simple as listening to a report. The man plays 4D chess. He may lose sometimes, but calling his defeat because he placed his queen on a square where it can be captured is too simple. He may have counterplay prepared.

That probably depends on the area.

My oldest had a 104.6 fever earlier today (turned out that it was just strep, which feels odd to say), but they had a mobile testing center set up at our hospital here. If the strep and flu tests came back negative, they said they would have tested her for that
