Interacted with a well, expecting to lift a bucket out of it, or something. Was surprised to venture down and find a little grotto inside. Scored a pointy hat to replace my leather hat. Nice!

Checked the map, noticed it put me way far away from where I physically entered the region. My spidey senses kicked in, and I doubled back to the entrance to Heliodor. Found a shiny - a Butterfly Wing. No clue what it's used for, but hey.

Oh, and a little shimmery guy to further validate that I did good. Appreciated.

I think Stump Chump is the first enemy I've defeated that I haven't felt guilty about.

Going places in this world

Get rekt. Used my Fusion Dance technique on the big baddie. Love how they literally "drop" treasure chests from the sky

We're doin stuff

Universal Merchant at the entrance. This game is so hand-holdy. But it's kinda perfect.

I was kinda poor back in Heliodor, but since I was grinding a bit in the previous area, I now had enough money to buy all the available upgrades here.

I tell you that just to follow up by saying I passed on the leather armor. Why? Because +1 defense is NOT WORTH giving up my Boxer Shorts. Puh-lease.

Tricky Devil was a delightful character. I hope we haven't seen the last of him.

Was expecting some kind of tutorial about magical plants and how I'd be encountering them all over the map and what all they could do for me. Instead, just a no explanation hallucination of past events which is somehow tied to my lumin'ry status. Uh...uh-huh. Ok.

These things just keep getting more and more ridiculous.

Often I find myself disappointed by the abundance of invisible barriers. The game is so vibrant and high energy that it sometimes makes me wish I was playing BotW so that I could jump off cliffs and interact with more of the environment.

Oh....oh damn.

I knew what was up as soon as I spoke to the first villager in town and he didn't recognize me. But they got me with the twist once the flashback ended. Didn't see that one coming.

So, just to unpack that. As I approached Cobblestone, the World Tree showed me a vision of the past to allow my granddad to tell me I need to go to Cobblestone Falls. Also, child Daniel can speak, even though present day Daniel cannot. Ok. Then the vision ended and Cobblestone is in ruins, razed under orders from the king. Because I'm the Darkspawn, right.

Dang. Welp.

Gotta say, I was expecting something more...prominent...for the three-sided rock.

Anyway. Prince of Dundrasil, mom is sad, and also dead, granddad is ignorant, we got a key item, Erik is ODDLY pushy about hurrying up to open the Door of Departure (which to my knowledge has not been explained in the least as to what it actually is...)
