This game sure does have an interesting take on chimaeras.

So, the mystery of the little blue guys is solved. Tockles? And seems like they have a whole in-depth sidequest chain thing going on. I'm actually relatively compelled to stick with it, because it's just fun so far. Was pretty amused with the dialogue in the first town where you recover the Lyre of Ire. Not to mention how the main baddie was just happy to have fans of his music. Good stuff.

In Gallopolis City now. Just in time for the horse-racing festival!!

I started this back up, almost 'done' with the game.

Right now I'm finishing up a quest. A Casino one where you need a jackpot, and it's driving me insane. I know the jackpot tricks, but I've been going at it for 3 hours now and it just refuses to land on the jackpot. Worst part is I've gotten like 10 jackpots prior to this stupid quest.

You know all this pomp and circumstance about the horse festival really hits close to home.

I rested until dusk and the circus area gave me a little bit of wall market vibes.

Would you be willing to hunt down a golden globe in order to acquire the golden globule I require in order to perfect my cutlets?

I just love the unabashed corniness of these quests. Like it came out of a free rpg quest generator. I absolutely would be willing.

Ok, objective to speak with the Sultan in the big flashy building. Time to not do that at all for the next 90 minutes.

This painter who's like, go forth and fight a battle worthy of being painted by my hand lol

I decided to go out and just run around looking for sparkly spots and farming battles. Ran into a metal slime and didn't quite figure out what it's deal was before it ran away. It only just now occurred to me you have to put items in a character's inventory before battle for that character to be able to use them haha. I inadvertently had one character holding all the healing items and all the antidotes etc. Battle system is more fun to grind with more magic options.

Ran down to the campfire beyond gallopolis. Used the pep move the painter wanted then realized I forgot to seek out the worthy enemy whoops.

Yeah but those generaters were developed using old school DQ games as a basis so it's cool.

Fun size forgin' time

Feathered caps for Serena and Veronica to replace their hairdbands. Now we got a crew of 4 rockin matching feathered caps.

Gold ring for Serena as she didn't have a second accessory yet.

Then I reworked Veronica's Staff and Serena's Wand.

I do enjoy the depth to all the tinkering options.

A dorky comment from the camp vendor NPC ("don't forget if you make any items on your forge I can pay an excellent price!") made me realize a little more clearly how the system works. Fight a bunch of battles, enemies drop a slew of random items, use those items to forge a bunch of items. Keep the very best and sell the rest. Use pearls to improve your current equipment. Fun stuff.

Daniel is rolling with a Cast-Iron Claymore +3 and Bronze Armour, and a Strength Ring +2. And, of course, Gemma's Charm.

Erik has a Poison Moth Knife +3 and a leather cape which I just splurged on after selling a load of forged items. Gold Chain and Gold Bracer.

Veronica has her staff +2 and a silk robe, and a Gold Ring +2 and a Gold Bracer.

Serena has her wand +2 with a silk robe and Fishnet Stockings +2 (ay girl) and the Full Moon Ring.

I learned the hard way the it's actually possible to fail on the forge lol. I mean I didn't realize if you tried one that was too many pearls it would be flat out impossible to succeed.

Oh I learned a new pastword. I'll probably swing back and check that before I go to the sultan in Gallopolis. But that's all for now. Got a lot I need to accomplish today irl. But that was a good classic RPG session I just grinded a bunch of repetitive menus and optimized all my equipment, items, money, etc.

Well if Moonahan or whatever wasn't silly. I had a magic water so completed the quest immediately. Went around and read all the dog jokes.

Noticed after I finished that the first place I visited is still available to go to but that last one isn't and I don't know what that means

Kicked some robber rabbit tail taking the scenic route back to gallop town.

First time in the daytime, I think. So the Prince Faris kid is 16 and it's like a big deal and whatnot

Oh right I need to farm cactiballs for a quest...I think I'll do that.

I splurged on a few items at the armor shop. Yup.

I played last night just because I felt like it. Get a load of that! Yeah.

I started the character builder finally.

Daniel: I took the first space in Luminary for +5% pep chance, then went into greatswords

Erik: got the steal ability, then went into knives

veronica: vim

serena: harpestry

I triggered the circus event with the prince. I keep trying to tell him no when he puts his whole life in my hands, but the game won't let me despite my insistence.

I got 2nd in the horse race. Expected I guess. I got better each lap and would've won had we gone one more. I kept missing the same green spot and hitting the same wall every lap. After that I went back and tried the bronze and silver races, and easily won them both without missing any boosts. Oh well. Faris didn't seem to care that "he" didn't win. Nobody else did, either.

Now we're off to slay a mighty big bad and Faris is useless again. We have new circus person with us though, who is...decidedly mysterious.

I fought a lot of battles in the ruins area trying to get my pep to line up to complete the quest for the painter, but no luck yet. I've also been abusing Erik's steal ability to death just for its own sake. It's fun.

Starting to feel more like actual thought going into battles, etc.

Daniel now has The Saviour of the Sands outfit and Serena has The Hip-Shaker

I bested the champion's challenge for bronze and silver cups, easy and difficult. That's what's available atm. Aside from that, I just mucked around Gallopolis a bit.

Activated the scene where Sylvando joins the party and says btw I got a boat in the place you're about to be and need a boat in.

Just got the achievement for 250 I think it was, battles won
