I use like 100MB a month. Not sure where that 100MB goes as I basically don't use it.
I have 10GB a month.

You're a coder and you don't know that your phone sends data packets even when you're not using it?

Looks to be between 8-10GB this month. It's hard to get an exact figure when I've set my limit at 50000GB and the phone displays that in terabytes.

23gb so far. My cycle resets on the 11th of every month.

Last month I used up over 50gb iirc.

It's not my normal usage either. I've been watching a lot of porn and camgirl shows (mostly the latter).

I take it you know exactly what data your phone is transiting on idle without looking it up?

Whatever data is required in it's constant contact with the provider which is not done via wifi, usually very small data packets with the nearest tower.

Your phone won't use data unless an app uses data. You can see how much is being used by each app in your settings. It doesn't use data to manage any connections on idle, you can use talk+text with 0 data.

Your phone is constantly sending data to the mobile provider even if your phone is constantly on wifi. You don't have to believe me but it's true. It's a very miniscule amount but it's there.

I can't find a single thing that tells me Android or IPhone eats your data even when data is disabled aside from this guy's bug where he had a developer option enabled.
https://support.google.com/pixelphone/thread/14062157?hl=en

If you're telling me it still uses data you're going to have to post some evidence because I can't find any.

What "minuscule data packets" are you talking about? You just made that up. All data usage is listed in the settings, down to the byte. If your data is disabled, it's disabled. If you still think it doesn't, you're a conspiracy theorist without proof.

Android/AppleOS does use data... when it's enabled. It won't use data when it's not enabled. Your phone can't be connected to remotely without wifi/data enabled.

None of my posts said anything regarding those that turn off data. Few do and of course they wouldn't send any data packets. But for those on wifi or those that don't even use their phone but it's on (but not connected to wifi), packets get sent to the provider, even when not in use.

4G/3G data packets will typically not be sent if you are connected to wifi. If you're connection is bad, AppleOS has an option to use data to help (I imagine they switch fully to one or the other due to having separate IP addresses). Android has an option to disable wifi on sleep, which is disabled by default.

4G (the norm these days) accounts for all text talk and data, and does not care if you have wifi enabled. Though technically all voice and text is sent to the same place your internet connection is using the same channel, no internet requests will be sent if you don't make any, and all internet requests will be denied if your carrier sees you have used up your limit.

https://www3.nd.edu/~mhaenggi/NET/wireless/4G/

Note that your phone will remain connected to these networks at all times, even if you don't have a plan or even a SIM card. This is how you can still make emergency calls.

It won't charge your internet data usage unless you intentionally do something to use internet data. It's not a leaky bucket that holds your money.

This is the quote I initially remarked about data being constantly sent, 100MB, and my response was very clearly not about the miniscule data packets.

100MB is very clearly not a "leaky bucket" nor did I claim any monetary loss in any of my posts due to the basic data connection needed between phone and provider.

I have location & wifi disabled basically 100% of the time. It's probably the rare update that I do, or periodic openings of slack.
Also not EVERYONE is a jack of all trades. I know shit about mobile phones besides the fact that eveey app under the sun harvests any data it can get access to.

In my opinion, the concept of data packets is computing/coding 101, since bits and bytes are units coders are working with.
