Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi was similarly greeted with a Howdy Modi rally in Houston last September. Some locals have shared their love for the U.S. president as they prepare for his visit. Bussa Krishna has worshipped Trump ever since the New York real estate mogul appeared to him in a dream four years ago, telling Reuters that he even prays to Trump. My love for him has transformed into reverence, Krishna said. That has given me immense happiness. Hence instead of praying to other gods, I started praying to him. To the best of my knowledge, India and Pakistan are only two separate countries because British influence separated the Bengal and Punjab provinces into separate countries based on religious majorities in both locations. The decision resulted in mass displacement and severe violence. There are areas in India where the massacre of Muslim people was either condoned or unimpeded by the rulers of the respective provinces, which regardless of the more fundamentalist, conservative sects of Islam that have taken hold, is seriously fucked up.
