I've driven a few of them. We buy them at my work (used car dealer) from time to time. They're pretty cool. They're pretty fucking quick from a dead stop. The door handles recess into the doors and pop out when you approach with the key in your pocket. All the gauges in the dash are screens and touchscreens and shit

Only been driven in one. I like everything but the interior. It's so plain and simple it's actually ugly to me

They're cool, but their reliability is not where they need to be at yet. I'm sure they'll be there in a few years though.

In what ways are they not as reliable as they could be?

I own one, it's a model 3 version, I wouldn't call it a luxury model. Overall I'm saving money by not buying gas in spite of the increased electric bill, and there are chargers along any major roads I could be taking (mall and school both have chargers) I didn't pay the outrageous fee for the self-driving features, I just have the normal "auto-pilot" which should really just be called lane assist.

Their failure rate isn't very good.(it's not abysmal, but they're not as reliable as some of the more trustworthy car makers yet)

It's always like that though. Hybrids had a pretty bad track record when they came out, but they're perfectly fine now. Just give them a few more years and I'm sure they'll be great.
