Ubisoft has just wrapped up an announcement adjusting its fiscal outlook for the year significantly downward. The announcement came alongside the confirmation that Watch Dogs Legion, Rainbow Six Quarantine, and Gods and Monsters have all been delayed and will launch in later 2020. And it seems the crux of the issue started with two underperforming games in 2019. Ubisoftconfirmed that both The Division 2 and Ghost Recon Breakpoint have underperformed significantly.

Chloe Woitier reported Ubisoft's comments on Twitter, confirming the publisher's disappointment with the two major 2019 releases. Details regarding The Division 2's struggles were not provided. It was simply referenced as "part of Ubisoft's commercial failures." Ubisoft explains that it's difficult to launch sequels to games with multi-year live services, and also says that innovation isn't capitalized on without sufficient development time.

I haven't played it but I can't help but think the only people who trash it are the ones that are weirdly into end game content and meta stuff. It's a solid shooter at it's core and I assume wandering around and killing people is still fun, so it being an irredeemable pile of shit seems pretty unlikely unless you have a very specific set of complaints.

I enjoyed division 1 somewhat I'm sure I'll like this especially for $3 my only problem is I just dont have the time or patience to play any looter

Yeah. Part of my thing is for 3$ I can still justify it if I only get a night or 2 out of it. It's the price of a hamburger. The cousin Im playing with immediately gave up me on the 1st. I was just lucky I had a fallback.

I'm buying the expansion anyway since The Division and Halo are literally the only shooters I care about nowadays and for different reasons, but yeah the game devs on that team smoke crack

I feel like their fuck ups since update 1.8 in TD1 and the asinine decisions they've made in TD2 so far should be taught in game design classes for what not to do. Took them half a year to implement a TD1 feature as basic as sharing blueprints across your characters as if anyone was going to be psycho enough to grind for that up to four times.

Me being a sucker since every other option sucks doesnt help them given how much of the playerbase has left. Matchmaking for most activities on PC is a ghost town

Not surprising. All these copy/paste "live service'" games could be sold for next to nothing and it wouldn't be a failure for companies because they can recoup the costs by 3x in microtransactions.

Anthem is also par for the course right now even though the devs are in insane denial over its demise.

Agreed. I played The Division and Destiny like regular single player shooters and had a good bit of fun. All the half assed multiplayer stuff, loot farming, and end game grinding didn't matter to me in the least and that's the stuff most people have issues with in these games.

I will say, I loved the Survival mode in the 1st. But that's still got the feel of being alone, you just have a small chance to run into others. I thought that mode was really good. You can sometimes play the whole match only running into NPCs. But that threat of other players maybe coming out the fog or entering the building you're in made it more tense.

Eh, $3 is a really good deal.

They improved on the shooting and made the world a lot more interactive compared to the first one. Enemies aren't as bullet spongy until you hit the endgame for sure. And there's a lot of beautiful detail in the world.

The main drawbacks for me were the absolute lack of story and the fact that even though I took my time reaching the endgame, I felt really underwhelmed when I finally did get there. That's back before the Raid even came out though so I know there's more content I could explore I guess.

Sequel is a little faster paced, guns feel better. Just a shame there's no story.

gameplay is pretty unbalanced if you are playing solo at all, especially before you hit the endgame. enemies do a lot of damage and have really good aim so playing solo ends up basically turtling in the farthest corner possible, using only skills to revive yourself and keep yourself away from enemies.

missions are dull & loaded with tons of glitches, bad spawns, etc. i cant find the clip but i have one i used to post here where a story mission was almost unbeatable for me because i'd die over and over since i was respawning in the same room the boss was in.

outside of that you have the typical ubisoft icon janitor open world design that gets old pretty fast. to top it off you also have one of the worst UIs I have ever seen in a modern game, and the game is loaded with little systems and shit that are very poorly explained (mostly through text dumps on the screen).

not sure how much ubisoft patched but i quit after playing the campaign because i was not having any fun at all. imo design is prob the most important part of loot games and ubisoft failed at that pretty badly.
