Gotta be honest, I know this is supposed to be a big reveal, but Battler being Kyrie's kid has been extremely fucking obvious since literally the moment Ange was revealed to be Kyrie's kid. They obviously didn't get the red hair from the Ushiromiya's, and Kyrie was definitely Angie's mom, and Kyrie didn't know what Rudolph was gonna reveal in episode 1 so it couldn't have been the reverse of them both being Asumu's.

This was a little more than tearing up, this was visceral all out bawling. I really don't know what came over me, it's probably the hardest I've cried before.

I'm wierd with crying, because usually I tear up when something is really exciting or hype? I've almost never cried from sad stuff, and in regards to fiction it has only happened twice: this, and the dream in the field at the end of the main Fata Morgana campaign.

With only two examples it's hard to nail down, but I think the trigger hear that absolutely ruins me is scenes of people having gone through horrific tragedy that cannot be undone, but getting one focused scene of comfort and being allowed releif to it all. Considering the characters involved in both cases it may even be more focused than that, but not enough evidence to say for sure yet.

But yeah, I am very excited to keep going with this final game, but if it had ended there it would have been absolutely magical.

More appreciation for the manga with almost every chaoter. Shannon showing Kanon's expressions when she's refusing or upset with Beatrice at the beginning of Episode 2.

Also I spoiled some of the explanations/accomplice breakdown for the first 4 episodes and fucking WOW that is way more involved than I thought it would be. Basically every single person on the island besides George and Battler are in on it in episode 4, lol.

Yeah, Episode 4 is legit nuts. The real thing is almost as crazy as the fantasy!

OK so this isn't gonna be long stuff. Regarding characters, mainly just commenting on characters that really hit me the most, good or bad. Opinions on, like, Beato and Beatrice should be pretty obvious, not gonna go into detail there. Similarly, for people like Ghoda and Kumasawa....yeah. I mean I like them, but why would I talk about them? So, here we gooooooo!

Kyrie & Rudolph - I feel like there could have been more here. For being Battler's parents, they really didn't have a lot going on until the 7th tea party, and then their Halloween Party revelation, which even if obvious was still a big deal, kind of just comes and goes. On that note, Asumu herself is just shockingly absent from the game. Never even gets a sprite. Boat guy and the other random extended family members of side characters got sprites, for god's sake. Obviously that's not what this game is ABOUT, but...just bothered me a bit.

Eva - Top queen best character hard stan. I fucking love Eva, even without Eva Beatrice. Whether she's being a complete bitch or just despairing over her inability to connect to Ange, Eva is always the best.Would go hard for more Eva content all day every day. I want 12 years of Eva/Ange SoL AU. And don't get me STARTED on Eva Beatrice, easily the best one of the non Beato witches. "Die ForEVAAAAAAAAA!!" is the best voiceline in the game, too.

Natsuhi - grew on me a TON. Obviously she has the episode 1 push, but I was always rooting for Natsuhi in this game. Everyone has skeletons in their closet in this game except Hideyoshi, but Natsuhi is the one I always wanted to see triumph over her challenges, though she basically never did, lol.

Hideyoshi -

Krauss - dude kind of shocked me, he doesn't really have any actual horrible secrets other than he's a dumbass? I spent the first half of the game being like "Ah, Krauss, the shitty one who is the biggest asshole", because that's clearly what the game wants, only to realize they were tricking me and he's just an oaf. Combine that with one of my favorite tropes of "secret boxer", and you've got a winner.

Jessica - "Secret Boxer"

George - I actually did not want to like George the whole game and was constantly looking for an excuse not to. I always wanted George to be lying about something, or a traitor somehow, a schemer, but it didn't happen. The fact that I like George as much as I do even though I spent the whole game wanting to hate him says something. Also, him and Jessica get massive mega big points from Episode 4.

Rosa - FUCK ROSA

Genji - I just really wish there was a scene where Genji got to be a total badass or do something to earn a radical combat Butler title, but that would not have worked out with the revelation of his part and the plot and also Ronove exists specifically BECAUSE Maria wished Genji would be a badass buttler and was not, soooooo...

Kanon - WHAT THE FUCK WAS UP WITH THAT COAT NERD

Erika - I went from thinking Erika was specifically designed to be the worst character in the game, to being desperate for every second of screen time she could get. I stand by her being lame as hell in pre-5th Tea Party, though you need her to be what she is there. Like a few other characters, I thunk that a lot of people's opinions on Erika are going to effected by whether they played a VA version of the game or not, as was hinted towards by the reaction to the youtube clip I posted prior.

Dlanor - Obviously Dlanor is rad as fuck and anybody who does not like her is a loser. Even then, I think I probably like her more than she deserves? She has tons of reason to like her, and I'm sure she gets the popularity she deserves, but I REALLY like Dlanor. I don't even know if I can really put words to it, probably just how much I dig her aesthetic. ironically I though she looked dumb before getting to her in the game, lol.

Willard and Lion - I will state my stance on episode 7 later.

Kinzo - Whether or not Episode 8 MAXIMUM GRANDPA was the truth or fiction, no matter what Kinzo was like the dude still raped his daughter in all versions of the story, soooooo........
