Flamander 02/05/20 2:44:19 PM #1:	After 8 months, it's finally here. The ranking thread. So when I put down the thread, I believe I said a lot of information about scores and so on. I'm not going to be making this information public, at least for now. I don't have too much faith in whether I really made the right scores for some songs. Anyways - here's what you need to know: tracks are roughly in what I would consider to be the right order; although they're not exact. I believe there's about a 5 track area of error. The other piece of info you need to be made aware of: my taste in music has changed a lot over the past 8 months. This is why I state there's a 5 track area of error. Some tracks I did closer to the start of the 8 months, some I did later. What else.... Right - just like last time, there's tiers we get to go through. Exactly nine, although there's some exceptions to the rule we'll see in due time. With that said... it took a long time for me to rank this and put it together and despite having ranking notes, I'll be typing these posts up on the fly. Songs in this category typically fall prey to both subjectively bad sound design and composition. Songs near the top of this tier aren't so much bad as just unlucky enough to be here. RANK 148 Ape Escape 3 Banana Heartbreak (UK Version) paulg235 [4/5] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rrYDescefzw ouch my ears. This song feels too smooth and it feels like the singer is being... too melodic? Like they're constantly lifting the end of every line and that irritates me. I'm used to hearing Sakura Kasugano's theme. This is probably the worst rendition I've heard. All the instruments feel BRIGHT and GLOSSY, like they're in a staring contest with you and not letting up. It's worth stating I listened to every track three times - I randomly picked each track to listen to. In other words, it's taken a while. My taste has changed some since I accepted noms and I think while this track wouldn't have necessarily have gotten in another tier, I believe it would have gotten a few ranks higher based on its sound design alone. It's very dark and industrial and gaseous and that's exactly the sort of sounds i like to listen to ALTHOUGH melodically it's still not great. I wouldn't listen to this on a regular basis. I don't like the sound design! It completely murks up the melody of the track and then I can't get into it because it feels like the whole song is clashing! It's weird. It's weird. This was another early rank. The melody is alright and the sound design is much better than I thought it was - but then again, maybe that's because I've shifted to liking this type of music in recent times.
