Both this and the point I was making is the guys getting open and making the plays deserve more credit than than guy who is making routine perfunctory throws.

I mean you could make an argument for Williams or Hill being the MVP too but you basically have to play out of your mind for the quarterback not to get it nowadays

It used to be given to non-QB's, even when the QB deserved it.
This is basically about Desmond Howard and how either Favre or White should have been the MVP that year. With all respect to the awesome return Howard had.

Hardware wise, I suppose. Brees has the record books though. And, as a QB so far, the numbers are hella lopsided in Brees favor. Brees' stats, especially later in his career, are frankly ridiculous.

Just go to any NFL post on Facebook about the halftime show. The salt from middle-aged white people is legendary.

Anyway, basically everything was satisfying about this Super Bowl. Good game, good halftime, great outcome.

Definitely a good game overall, much better than last year. Mahomes about to get 200 million guaranteed and a minority ownership of the team.

Tonight was another great illustration of how meaningless those usually are. Mahomes was really poor and had a terrible stat line until he threw a few passes to wide open dudes for either huge yardage or TDs late in the game, and suddenly his terrible stats became merely bad.

I didn't think Mahomes deserved the MVP. But, no one really stood out either. I hit the bet on Mahomes winning it though so I will take it.

I looked and that bet paid almost nothing. I think it was basically a gimme if the chiefs won that mahomes would win MVP barring a miracle from someone else. 49ers MVP was up in the air for sure though.

It was +115. It paid $46 on my $40 bet.

Of course he is considered the front runner for MVP if the chiefs won, but that also is predicated on the fact the chiefs had to win also.

Mahomes MVP was the lowest odds on my wins.

Obviously the Hill bet would have been the lowest odds overall. It was +1200. I had Mahomes +4000 at first but changed it when I realized that Mahomes didn't get credit for a passing TD.

I mean, I wasn't betting the house. I was just betting a bunch of bets to keep as much fun in the game. 10 bets for $320. Ended up at $405.50. I mean, that's cool and made the game fun.

You don't have to change his Super Bowl stats to be bad. They just straight up are by any measurement.

Also, I've never argued anywhere that he's a bad quarterback. He's close to best in the league if not the best right now. Doesn't change the fact he was bad on Sunday.

And yet he managed to lead them back despite having a bad game by his standards.

Sounds MVP worthy to me imhotbqh

the best players still manage to find ways to win even when they don't have their best stuff
