yes. I just showed up to court and told the judge that I agreed with the officer's report of me speeding. I didn't have a prior record so she lowered the ticket from 260 to 100. One lucky bastard that was there had his ticket thrown out cause his officer didn't show up.

seems like a no brainer

did you really agree with it? thought you were in the wrong? what about did they still give you points on your license?

Nope, because there was no question. I've gone (and succeeded) to get a charge reduced, though.

Well, it was weird. I didn't contest it but it was overturned I guess? This is a stereotypical small, southern town cop story.

I left a school board meeting I was presenting at and as I left I was stopped by a city cop. I had just turned off of the street the school was on and got on the highway. The cop told me I was going 60....up a hill in a car that I doubt would have trouble reaching sixty going downhill.

Another couple pulled over to watch that was at the meeting because they didn't understand what was happening and I was later told they didn't trust that cop.

I didn't argue with the cop. Just did my "Yes sir, no sir" thing. Later paid my fine.

I got a call from city hall to come down there after work. The mayor had my fine returned to me. Apparently that cop was not supposed to have been patrolling that night, he was on some kind of probation for misbehavior about stopping young women to just talk to him. He didn't keep his job much longer.

Yup. I used to have a bad habit of gradually slowing down after passing a sign where the speed limit drops. Plus I was going downhill.

You can ask the officer for the evidence after they read their report, but I mean your best chance of winning is on a paperwork technicality on their end.

they dont use points where it happened (oregon)
