I was at the midnight launch of the Nintendo DS.

Which meant I only had SM64DS to play for a good long while since the DS barely had any games at launch

Years back I bought a DS for $10 off some girl that my buddy was banging. She wanted the money for weed.

So I bought Chrono Trigger, played it and then sold the DS and the game to someone else and made $20 off it.

That was my only experience with DS.

I had an original launch model phat. it lasted like 10 years and then some of the buttons stopped working. I held onto it though thinking maybe at some point I could figure out a fix to it. but then I had bed bugs and a bug crawled inside the system and I threw it out. it was fucked up

I bought my DS sometime between April and July 2008

I remember because I bought it before I graduated, but buying it prompted me to buy one for my girlfriend at the times birthday at the end of June 2008 cause she was playing mine constantly.

It was a red DS lite, I bought her a blue DS lite.

DS Phat near launch (so option 2). I had Asphalt and SM64.

Never owned one, but I did get a 3DSXL within a year before the new 3DS was announced.

Got an original DS for Christmas after it released.

First few games I got was Mario 64 DS and Metroid Prime Hunters. Funny thing is, I wasn't much of a Metroid fan back then, but because my brother got Metroid Prime, I wanted to try the DS game. I tried Metroid Prime, but I was too overwhelmed by all the exploration and scanning.

But now it's my favorite Metroid game, and one of my favorite series. Hunters didn't quite hold up for me though, especially after playing other Metroid games years later.

I remember having an original DS but I can't remember if it was before or after the DS Lite launched. I've also had a Lite and a DSi XL, and a Pokemon B/W DSi. Don't know why I bought all those.

Got the red "phat" model on Christmas 2005, with Mario Kart DS and Meteos.
Had lots of fun with my high school friends during lunch periods the second half of that school year.

I also never got a Lite; the Phat lasted me until I got my Flame Red 3DS in 2011.

Yeah, that first year was brutal, which is why I waited. My friend on the other hand got it at launch with SM64DS, and I remember playing it and HATING the controls. That game is not meant for a D-Pad.

I don't rember exactly, I just know I got a DS lite sometime before the DSi came out, and then I got a 3DS XL, and later, a New 3DS XL
Kinda wish I waited until the 2DS XL came out, though, but hey, at least I played one of the New 3DS-exclusive games (there are like 5...)

I was smart and waited for a blue dsi and got an aluminum case. I have gone back to playing my n3dslx everyday. Sometimes thats all I want to do, makes me feel young again.
