Sure but you also can't blame the guy for wanting to explore more ideas. Zone of the Enders and Snatcher were pretty great too. I'd have liked to see more of his oneshots tbh. Or even another ZoE.

Yeah? And none of them were like MGS.

It was, but it cut short a wonderfully tense Shadow Moses section.

I can blame the guy for purposely fucking with his biggest cash cow in an effort to get people to actively stop buying it.
Nah that's not how it was. He intended to--and did--make a good product. He always committed to the integrity of whatever he was working on. The idea was to that when Konami demanded he make an MGS3, he could say it was impossible to write a sequel to MGS2.

Only thing is it backfired.

The least memorable to me. I only played through it once and never touched it again, unlike the previous 3 I played multiple times. I only played Phantom Pain once, but I spent a ton of time on that one playthrough doing almost all the side missions.

Huh. Makes me wonder how much truth was behind him wanting nude cutscenes.
Also wonder how common practice it is for motion capture actors/actresses to not play the games or look into them after the matter. I get it's just a job for some, but still. I'd at least be pretty curious about it.

That's flippin bonkers. I know it's not uncommon to get actors avoiding their work, but to be involved with a series of very prominent movies for decades and to consistently deliver superb compositions without having the whole context of the series? That's impressive.

Reminds me of THE highlight from FFV where X-Death is attacking Krile and Galuf takes him on one-on-one, and Galuf's HP drops to literal 0 but he keeps trucking through it and even taking more hits.

Blew me away. Rest of the story sucked but hey.

It's effective because of how firm the rule is when they break it.

The microwave hall was the low point.

They coulda called it a number of things that aren't "Deathly radiation" and it coulda worked.

Mk3 shoulda been toast, snake shoulda been genuine dead, etc etc.
