Apparently over 90% of the bag will naturally biodegrade from ocean bacteria within six months. They could be certified as the first plastic bags that break down in water.
(Only downside is they cost 7x more than standard shitty bags.)

Sounds promising tbh. I remember a few years ago, my wife and I were vendors at festival and we bought compostable plastic cups. But they started breaking down and melting by the end of the day, from the summer heat lol. Stuff like this sounds more realistic for a consumer setting.

they started enforcing the no plastic bag rule this year (think california was behind the initiative). have to pay 5 cents for each paper bag they're very unreliable in wet weather and in carrying setting if plan to walk home with one.

better off buying a tote for 1-3$.

Yeah, I've been using reusable shopping bags for like 8 years now, but they just started enforcing the ban here in New York last year. I honestly prefer the tote bags, because they're stronger and bigger. I just keep a stock of them in the car at all times.

But people like to bitch and moan about how they need to spend $6 to invest in bags, despite the fact every sporting event/concert/festival/other public events always have some vendor giving them out for free, for like the past 20 years. If that ain't a first world prob, I don't know what is lol.

You're lucky. Here in Hawaii we've had no plastic bags for a while and we're charged 15 cents per paper bag. What's worse is that they're about to do away with paper bags too, as well as styrofoam take out trays and plastic utensils :<

Here's a 10-pack for $20.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07H7JCD6J/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_hvWkEbV58DT53

Or you can buy them at basically any grocery store. I've only bought a few ever, cuz I get so many for free from random events. Like I said, companies are always giving them away at festivals, concerts, sport games, etc... The only times I actually paid money it was for a specific one I wanted, like a Zelda bag or one with penguins on it at an aquarium.

Plastic bags can be blamed on consumers

Asking corporations to do something is a bigger ask lol... then once they actually do it, theyll just riase the prices... for consumers

State ban.
If you're military (Federal), they still give plastic bags when you check out at the Commissary. I hoard them for personal use.
